Pre-Trip 18 years of marital bliss means it’s time for some Surf n Turf action…..again.

So….it’s about that time again. For those unfamiliar with our shenanigans you may enjoy the following:
Surf n Turf vol 1: 16th anniversary trip
Surf n Turf vol 2: 17th anniversary trip
Surf n Turf vol 3: Cruising is not for the kid.

I hope you all have been having an excellent summer so far, ours has been BUSY! As the title suggests, this will mark our 18th anniversary and what is awesome is we will actually be in the bubble on our anniversary date! But first, some introductions:
DW: Laura and me: Sean
PhotoPass_Visiting_WDWRESORTSANDMORE_7724885381.jpeg

Lots of back story of here and I won’t throw it all at you again but long story short; my wife sat in front of me in the 5th grade and I still think that is pretty awesome!

So, those familiar with us should not be surprised, Disney Vacation Creep set in rather early this time and what was to be a Thursday arrival soon turned into a Wednesday arrival and the dates are:
October 19-21 AKL Kidani
October 21-24 Disney Dream
October 24-25 AKL Kidani

Love me a Dream sammy on Kidani! We actually did our Dream check-in just yesterday and booked a few things to do, one of those is a dinner at Palo again on Pirate night. We snagged a 6pm reservation this year so if we decide to take part in the costume festivities we can and we will be done in plenty of time for the fireworks. We also booked two excursions as placeholders and need to decide which one we want to do. We are holding a jet ski excursion for two and a snorkeling/rum tasting excursion. The DW is on the fence on which one to do. I’m fine either way as long as we have plenty of time to relax at Serenity Bay. Some other Dream stuff is TBD.

We’ve lined up a few ADRs and will probably add one other before we leave. What we have so far is:
Sanaa for dinner
Kona, our breakfast tradition the day we make for port.
Yachtsman for our anniversary dinner.

That’s it for now, more details to follow.

We have received our room assignment! The angst, the worry, the 'why will Disney not just assign it already' paid off!

Are you ready for this??!!

Category 5E stateroom 7190

@lostpro9het needs to add the appropriate celebratory gif!

Where's a dancing banana when you need one?

Fantastic, that's a ginormous balcony! It doesn't have the split bathroom, but that hardly matters.

Ginormous may be underselling it! I couldn't believe the size until I had some scale, our balcony will be between the two black bars:

Laura kinda set me up with the reveal too, here is the exact exchange:
DW: You busy?
Me: I got things going on, you?
DW: [link to the youtube of room 7190]
Me: Holy [expletive]! That may be my new favorite room!
DW: THIS IS OUR ROOM
Me: Are you [expletive] kidding me!?!?!?!?!?
DW: NOPE

Needless to say I have a potty mouth and was very excited to see this news. I was really dreading not knowing our room until we arrived at port and concerned we were going to get something we didn't like. Now I only wish we were on the boat for longer to enjoy that veranda even more.

Calvin & Hobbes are my favorites! Are you on Instagram? If so, follow @briankesinger, he's a Disney artist who does a lot of C&H/Star Wars mashups, they're brilliant and funny.

I've actually seen how huge it is with my own eyes! Last September I was in 7690 and peeked over to check out 7688 next door, which is the mirror of 7190.

That. Is. Brilliant. Well done, @imahistorygeek!!

I can't wait to see how you like the room. I have my first ever cruise tentatively planned for next September in room 8188 on the Dream. I've heard mixed reviews about the aft rooms but I can't say no to that extended verandah!

You'll love it. My very favorite stateroom is 7194, directly below 8188. Deepest verandah there is, because it's a the center of the aft.

We did a ton of research and the positives far outweigh any negatives with these aft rooms. We've yet to have a bad room on the Dream and really believe we might like this one the most.

One day I would love to go on a cruise and when that day comes I'm looking all of you up @lostpro9het @imahistorygeek and @Tiggerish. While reading this half of it sounds like it's in code. :)
Its almost like learning a new language! I wont lie, I'm pretty sure Ive said this about a dozen times now, I was dead set AGAINST doing DCL but the DW wore me down and I'm glad she did! The service, atmosphere, attention to detail, quality, and cleanliness of the experience are all things you should expect from Disney but might not get in the parks anymore. I know other cruises can be had at a lower price with potentially comparable experiences but I'm hooked.

No real update other than to say we're about 45 days out and I got tricked into homecoming dress shopping today... I'll say this, though, North Point mall is so upscale their Disney store offers you a genuine Disney World experience. I give you "The Unattended Stroller":

We're not the only ones excited..

Now the hard part begins... There seems to be more bells and whistles on this little guy than I expected.

Less than 23 days left and we get more excited everyday. We're still toying with the idea of a small direct Poly purchase while on the boat. Still no sign of our cruise packet, I'm thinking our delay in getting our GTY assignment is the cause.

That's it for for now, time to go learn how to take pictures...
