Pre-Trip 18 years of marital bliss means it’s time for some Surf n Turf action…..again.

So….it’s about that time again. For those unfamiliar with our shenanigans you may enjoy the following:
Surf n Turf vol 1: 16th anniversary trip
Surf n Turf vol 2: 17th anniversary trip
Surf n Turf vol 3: Cruising is not for the kid.

I hope you all have been having an excellent summer so far, ours has been BUSY! As the title suggests, this will mark our 18th anniversary and what is awesome is we will actually be in the bubble on our anniversary date! But first, some introductions:
DW: Laura and me: Sean

Lots of back story of here and I won’t throw it all at you again but long story short; my wife sat in front of me in the 5th grade and I still think that is pretty awesome!

So, those familiar with us should not be surprised, Disney Vacation Creep set in rather early this time and what was to be a Thursday arrival soon turned into a Wednesday arrival and the dates are:
October 19-21 AKL Kidani
October 21-24 Disney Dream
October 24-25 AKL Kidani

Love me a Dream sammy on Kidani! We actually did our Dream check-in just yesterday and booked a few things to do, one of those is a dinner at Palo again on Pirate night. We snagged a 6pm reservation this year so if we decide to take part in the costume festivities we can and we will be done in plenty of time for the fireworks. We also booked two excursions as placeholders and need to decide which one we want to do. We are holding a jet ski excursion for two and a snorkeling/rum tasting excursion. The DW is on the fence on which one to do. I’m fine either way as long as we have plenty of time to relax at Serenity Bay. Some other Dream stuff is TBD.

We’ve lined up a few ADRs and will probably add one other before we leave. What we have so far is:
Sanaa for dinner
Kona, our breakfast tradition the day we make for port.
Yachtsman for our anniversary dinner.

That’s it for now, more details to follow.

Since we have a night under our belt, I thought I'd give my thoughts.

Pros:
The views and location cannot be beat. We had an amazing view of MK and two views of the monorail.
The bungalow is beautiful. The themeing is gorgeous.
Modern technology - the lights are all on a central operating system and have different modes for each room that can be operated by a touch pad. Oh, and the oven is an oven/microwave (there's also a separate microwave) deal. There's a tv within the bathroom vanity mirror. A TV IN THE MIRROR.
Jetted tub - it's not the type normally found in rooms. The jets are tiny little holes. Very nice.
The ability to eat the Twilight Feast on the back deck. One portion was huge. We had food left over.

Cons:
The level of noise is crazy. There's a window AC unit it the master bedroom that turns on and off and it's quite noticeable. Sean can sleep through most anything and it doesn't bother him. We'd also heard the ferry boats quite late at night. IMO, this level of noise would be completely unacceptable for someone paying cash rate $2500/night or using points. If you are a light sleeper, you will most definitely need earplugs. There's also the noise associated with the plumbing. The system used to evacuate the water is very loud. Do not use the restroom at night unless you want to wake everyone up.

From Sean: The lights are both a pain in the a$$ and convenient. There's a learning curve, to be sure.

Overall, this was a bucket list item for us. Never in our wildest dreams did we believe this would happen. We were so fortunate to experience Disney magic. It was an experience beyond compare.

A few hours to go before we have to get back on board. So many starfish today, plenty of pictures to come. Just enjoying the sounds of the ocean now.

We'll catch the second showing of Believe tonight before our final dinner at CRP

Ahhhh my favorite place in the "Big Blue World".
Have a great day and a strawberry soft serve for me!
I'm all about the banana soft serve! I mixed in a little chocolate today...
