16 Days of Disney! A Wedding and Disneymoon Trip Report!

Introduction

Welcome to my Disney World Wedding and Disneymoon trip report! For the full pre-trip report, click here.

I’ve decided to start by introducing…

The Full Cast

First (copypasta!) there’s me:
8323362919_c9cffbceda_o.jpg

24 year old, prior-Air Force, college student with a possibly unhealthy love for Disney and Disney World in particular. This makes my fourth trip to Disney World since my very first trip in 2009.

Coda:
8324421344_3e7a5884bb_o.jpg

27 year old merchant marine. This is his second trip to Disney World.

Coda’s twin (yep, twin, honestly) brother, Levi, and his girlfriend, Carolyn:
8323362741_364a4506ab_o.jpg

Levi's first (and only) trip was in 2010, and Carolyn hasn't been since she was a kid.

My mom, dad, and my brother, Michael:
8323362813_8823bbba79_o.jpg

This is everyone's first trip!

Coda’s mom and sister, SuHana:
Apparently we have absolutely no pictures of Coda's mom... So this is Coda and SuHana.
8323362673_ddc7322e1b_o.jpg

Also their first trip.

Our friend, Reuben and his son, Cy:
8324435844_567842d96d_o.jpg

Yep, their first trip too!

Wow! Can I just say that I will never bring this many people to Disney World (or anywhere else, for that matter) EVER again! Levi and Carolyn joined us from December 15th – 22nd, and they were great! Reuben and Cy were there from the 16th – 22nd, but man, they were a handful. My family and Coda’s mom and sister arrived on the 20th and left on the 22nd and that was complete madness. I promise, we’ll get to that.

The Plan

This trip was supposed to be completely stress free! Key word here is “supposed”. Shockingly, it was not.

We ended up arriving a day early on the 14th. The first few days were mainly for Coda to spend time with his brother and friend Reuben. Coda’s brother, Levi, lives in Alaska (for those of you who are geographically challenged, that is many miles from North Carolina), and they hadn’t seen each other in over a year. The 20th through the 22nd were days to spend with family and, most importantly, get married. Finally, the 23rd through the 29th was our honeymoon. Again, supposed to be stress- and drama-free…

Oh, there was also much consumption of Disney food planned.

Next up: How things actually played out.

Diggin' the TR!
Congrats on the marriage and honeymoon trip! DW and myself honeymooned in WDW back in '88. :)
We also did a big trip (13 of us  ) back in July. Went pretty amazing, actually!
Also, cheers to your hubby's choice of Blue Moon...one of my favorites, right now!
Looking forward to more...! :)

I can't wait to read more! It makes me want to go back so badly! We went to Disney with a group when I was 5, let's just say we've never gone with a group since!

Congratulations on your marriage!

First, this first picture is awesome. I'd love to get on a ride with that much seating with no one else.

Second, the girl's face behind you in picture two is outstanding.

And congrats on the wedding, I can't wait for the next 14 days of this TR.

What's funny is I just noticed the face of the guy sitting next to her! It's like something out of a horror flick!

Diggin' the TR!

Thank you! I was born in '88... I'm glad your group trip went better than mine! After this trip we've cut down the guest list for our family trip to just my mom and brother! Yeah, Coda LOVES Blue Moon with Orange Juice. In fact, he just picked some up for tonight's dinner.

I can't wait to read more! It makes me want to go back so badly! We went to Disney with a group when I was 5, let's just say we've never gone with a group since!

Congratulations on your marriage!

I don't blame you! I don't think I'll go with a group that big again. Dealing with the people was an experience in itself! Oh, and thank you! ;)

I've been excitedly waiting for this report!!!!

:D I promise to get back to it Sunday afternoon!

The food at Raglan Road looked REALLY good. I was scared of eating there b/c I'd read some negative allergy reviews, but after seeing how well they handled yours- I think we'll be trying it...whenever we return.

Awesome views from BLT! I have a friend staying there right now and between her pics and your report...I am so regretting not staying there or the Contemporary on our last trip. Jealous! :D

Funny with the gingerbread cupcake...that was the flavor I made for DD6's class holiday party. :)

Can't wait to read more!

Tracy, I am loving this TR! By the sound of it, you had a wild time - hopefully it's one that you'll look back on with fondness in the end!

Loving your pictures - especially the ones where you and Coda are so SMILEY. Brings me joy.

So excited for the WEDDING part - eep eep! This is going to be one long TR and I'm pumped!

Really enjoying the trip report. LOVE your pictures...not your run-of-the-mill pics and so fun. I almost gasped when I saw picture after picture of all who joined you, knowing exactly that your next comment would be your declaration of never making that mistake again (the ole one and done!) Congratulations on your wedding and looking forward to more trip report and pictures.

Day Three

Our second full Disney day began at 7:15 in the morning. I woke up early to give myself plenty of time to get to the Magic Kingdom to meet my future brother-in-law at 8:30. We hopped the elevator downstairs and left the building to walk (yes, walk) over to the MK main gate.

8326340305_5f971e09fe.jpg

We were thrilled with the walk over! To hear the CMs talk, it was a five-mile hike! I noticed on this trip that CMs generally assume that everyone is extremely lazy… So we got to the Magic Kingdom and noticed that there wasn’t a huge crowd assembled. In fact, it seemed that everyone was walking right in! Coda gave Levi a call and discovered that the park had opened at 8am instead of 9, like I thought! I’m not really sure what I was thinking. We were told to hightail it to Space Mountain where Levi and Carolyn were waiting for us. We quickly made it down Main Street where we saw these guys in action:

8326331555_ef0a1a9fb3.jpg

Unfortunately, we caught the tail end of the show. Oh well, better luck next time!

We crossed into Tomorrowland…

8327379754_b17d4d0883.jpg

And finally, we met up with our party of two. After they took a few minutes to laugh at our wedding mickey ears, we rode Space Mountain. We were able to walk right on with no wait at all! Coda rode alone and I went with Levi and Carolyn. We got some really fun pictures!

8328895748_78ba2eb88d.jpg

After Space we HAD to check out New Fantasyland (which was still very empty at this point)!

8326319669_0391bbacf7.jpg

Again, we walked right onto the ride – this time, Little Mermaid!

8326310691_07eea1538e.jpg

The ride was so much fun! I’m not sure what all the complaints were about seeing the ceiling and such. We felt completely immersed in the movie.

8327356012_f0d7ebcf4c.jpg

Afterwards, we had to leave Fantasyland for awhile because Coda and I were starving, though Levi and Carolyn had eaten at their resort. We headed towards Sleepy Hollow for a nutella waffle sandwich! On the way there, we grabbed Peter Pan fastpasses and spotted the new bathroom being built.

8327350266_87e8947ce1.jpg

Sorry, no pictures of the waffle, but let me just say that if you haven’t tried one, you’re missing out! It was SO good! I was honestly worried there might not be enough nutella on it, but boy, was I wrong! YUM!

After breakfast, we had planned to meet back up with the others at It’s a Small World. However, by the time we got there, we discovered they hadn’t waited for us! So we got on by ourselves. The wait wasn’t bad at all, maybe about 5 minutes. If only the entire trip were this way… Of course, we got some cute pre-wedding pictures on the ride:

8335284148_d24b423a08.jpg

The plan after IaSW was to meet at Haunted Mansion! Shockingly, they didn’t wait there either. Oh well… So we went on alone. Again. And again, there was barely a wait.

8326265957_ecde3f8439.jpg

Coda and I decided to use our Peter Pan fastpasses after HM and meet with Levi after that. We were getting kind of tired of them jumping on things without us when we’d planned to go together. Peter Pan was awesome, as always! Again, maybe I’m blinded by pixie dust, but I didn’t see what everyone’s been complaining about.

Coda texted Levi and found out that he was on Splash Mountain! I thin it was around 60 degrees outside. But they’re from Alaska, so I guess it was warm to them? We walked over to Frontierland to find them.

8327318474_90427a9cc5.jpg

8326254667_dcfa5ec03d.jpg

We waited and waited to see them come down the mountain and finally they did. Man, were they SOAKED! But they didn’t seem to mind.

We moseyed over to Big Thunder, but it was closed because due to “technical difficulties” according to a CM, and would be open later in the day. Unfortunately, the fastpass distributors were covered up.

At this point, everyone but me made a bathroom stop and I got a phone call. You see, I had been sneakily planning behind Coda’s back for months. His best friend Reuben had been conniving with me to get down to Florida with his son Cy. The call was to tell me they had just arrived at Magic Kingdom! I told him we were heading towards Pirates and to meet us there. Coda had no idea!

With everyone out of the bathroom and me looking innocent (as always), we headed to Adventureland. Suddenly, out of nowhere, someone came up behind Coda and started sniffing (yep, you heard me) his neck! He was WAY in his bubble! Coda freaked out and turned around, saw Reuben and froze (notice Cy in the background looking adorable).

8326242631_1a3970c3e1.jpg

He just stood there and stared at him for several seconds, looked at me, and with a huge grin said, “Did you know about this?!” This was his face for quite awhile afterwards:

8326236245_0c073a6b43.jpg

It was the first time I’ve ever been able to get one over on him!

Up next: Scary pirates and the hat lady!

Oh yes, the people at Raglan Road handled my allergy wonderfully! It was the first experience I've had with allergies at Disney World and I was blown away!

Hi there :) Enjoying your TR so far. Congrats on the wedding. -Amanda

Thank you!

The two people in front make the train go downhill so devilishly fast that you and DH leave a trail of aura behind you. The two satanists behind you are aiming for it, trying to inhale it to suck the souls out of your living bodies, leaving you for zombies.

A very good assumption.

Tracy, I am loving this TR! By the sound of it, you had a wild time - hopefully it's one that you'll look back on with fondness in the end!

Loving your pictures - especially the ones where you and Coda are so SMILEY. Brings me joy.

We did have an interesting (and very fun) trip! The wedding part is still a few days away, but I have lots of pictures!

Yay! So excited to see your TR up! I have been anxiously awaiting this...congratulations on the wedding and bummer that Coda was called up for 2-3 months. But, absence does make the heart grow fonder!

Thank you! I feel so special knowing someone's been waiting on my trip report! ;) Yes, it's a difficult life, being married to a merchant marine, but I'm told it gets easier.

Great TR so far, waiting with anticipation.

Thanks! :)

Oh yes, just wait. Things are going to happen that will make your head spin!

And thank you :D

Loving it so far! Congrats on the wedding you two look so happy together :)
