16 Days of Disney! A Wedding and Disneymoon Trip Report!

Introduction

Welcome to my Disney World Wedding and Disneymoon trip report! For the full pre-trip report, click here.

I’ve decided to start by introducing…

The Full Cast

First (copypasta!) there’s me:
8323362919_c9cffbceda_o.jpg

24 year old, prior-Air Force, college student with a possibly unhealthy love for Disney and Disney World in particular. This makes my fourth trip to Disney World since my very first trip in 2009.

Coda:
8324421344_3e7a5884bb_o.jpg

27 year old merchant marine. This is his second trip to Disney World.

Coda’s twin (yep, twin, honestly) brother, Levi, and his girlfriend, Carolyn:
8323362741_364a4506ab_o.jpg

Levi's first (and only) trip was in 2010, and Carolyn hasn't been since she was a kid.

My mom, dad, and my brother, Michael:
8323362813_8823bbba79_o.jpg

This is everyone's first trip!

Coda’s mom and sister, SuHana:
Apparently we have absolutely no pictures of Coda's mom... So this is Coda and SuHana.
8323362673_ddc7322e1b_o.jpg

Also their first trip.

Our friend, Reuben and his son, Cy:
8324435844_567842d96d_o.jpg

Yep, their first trip too!

Wow! Can I just say that I will never bring this many people to Disney World (or anywhere else, for that matter) EVER again! Levi and Carolyn joined us from December 15th – 22nd, and they were great! Reuben and Cy were there from the 16th – 22nd, but man, they were a handful. My family and Coda’s mom and sister arrived on the 20th and left on the 22nd and that was complete madness. I promise, we’ll get to that.

The Plan

This trip was supposed to be completely stress free! Key word here is “supposed”. Shockingly, it was not.

We ended up arriving a day early on the 14th. The first few days were mainly for Coda to spend time with his brother and friend Reuben. Coda’s brother, Levi, lives in Alaska (for those of you who are geographically challenged, that is many miles from North Carolina), and they hadn’t seen each other in over a year. The 20th through the 22nd were days to spend with family and, most importantly, get married. Finally, the 23rd through the 29th was our honeymoon. Again, supposed to be stress- and drama-free…

Oh, there was also much consumption of Disney food planned.

Next up: How things actually played out.

The two people in front make the train go downhill so devilishly fast that you and DH leave a trail of aura behind you. The two satanists behind you are aiming for it, trying to inhale it to suck the souls out of your living bodies, leaving you for zombies.

okay this is the 2nd hilarious thing of today , right behind the 2 cows story...

Yay! I'm excited you're back with the next installment! :) You look so happy- I can't wait til you get to the wedding!
Me too!! So cool that you were able to surprise him! I'm jealous that you got one of the nutella waffles. One more thing I didn't accomplish on this past trip and have to add to my list for next time!

Raglan Road looks so good!! It's always a place we contemplate but then never actually go there. That needs to change sometime soon!!!

You definitely have to try one! They're to die for!

enjoying it so far. that tamarin cupcake is definitely in my radar now :D and nice surprise for your husband too!

That cupcake was soooo good! The only thing I'm upset about is that Coda talked me out of getting another one right before we left! :(

Day Three – Part Two

Our plans to hit Pirates next were cut short by the addition of a tiny person named Cy. He had spotted the flying carpets on his way through Adventureland and was dying to go on! Of course, we obliged. How can you say no to that face?

8327296328_ace35a5b85.jpg

Reuben and Cy on their first ever Disney ride!

8326218711_b79010bbe7.jpg

8326223989_7ffc6d992e.jpg

Cy loved the ride! I wanted to take him on Dumbo, but didn’t get the chance. Oh well. After the flying carpets, we walked on to Pirates of the Caribbean with about a 10-minute wait. I was a little worried about how Cy would handle it, but he wanted to go!

8327272624_a85a68d916.jpg

He was really scared at first, but by the end he was BEGGING to go back! We told him that we would come back later, but Coda and I both really wanted to check out the Tiki Room! Neither of us had ever done it. We waited outside with a couple other people and saw the pre-show, which Cy thought was awesome! We did too, of course!

8327266398_e72354e6f1.jpg

The show was pretty good! I’m not sure that it’s an every trip type thing, but it was definitely a fun getaway from the crowds (even if they weren’t terrible just yet). My only problem was that there was a family with a screaming baby who refused to leave the room! Birds are singing and this guy with a wailing infant stands up and moves to the back of the room directly behind us. It was lovely…

After the Tiki Room Coda decided to make a run for fastpasses at Big Thunder Mountain and told us to go ahead to the Jungle Cruise without him. Levi, Caroly, Reuben, Cy, and I walked right onto the waiting boat and started our journey.

8326477718_bc53989aa6.jpg

Our skipper was decent – nothing extraordinary – but Levi was cracking up the whole time! He loved it! As we exited the ride, we saw Coda waiting. Apparently, he had meant to get in line and wait for him… Oops.

By this time we were starting to get hungry and Be Our Guest was on the menu for lunch! On the way towards New Fantasyland, we noticed that Big Thunder Mountain only had a 20-minute wait! Even though we had fastpasses, we hopped in line with Cy in tow.

8326455374_2c81fd6f7e.jpg

8325385927_bca0fc9962.jpg

Again, I wasn’t quite sure how he would handle it. Reuben and Cy rode in front of us, and let me just say, it was the most hilarious ride of the trip! As we went around the first turn, Reuben told Cy to put his hands in the air and showed him how. Going into the turn, Cy (with hands raised) very slowly just fell over and into the side of the car. Now I know why they’re padded! His dad quickly pulled him back up while laughing hysterically. Overall, he loved Thunder! His first roller coaster!

We finally made it to Be Our Guest and discovered that it was about a 20-minute wait. The line covered the entire bridge! Coda and I had no problem waiting, but I don’t think everyone else was as keen on the idea. Still, they waited. I think these are perks of being the couple getting married! ;)

Here are some pics from our wait:

The inside was simply amazing!

8325351739_851a9c555f.jpg

Most of my indoor pictures are from our dinner on the 27th! For lunch I had the vegetable quiche.

8325323891_65ee6a510a.jpg

It was hands down the best quiche I had during my stay at the World, and I had a few. Dessert was (what else?!) the triple chocolate cupcake!

8325318449_be50cc1bde.jpg

Oh my goodness! The frosting was heavenly! After lunch, we decided on Buzz Lightyear’s Ranger Spin as our last ride of the day. I’d never been on that one either! We got in line (again, very short wait) and had a blast! I still like TSMM better though. Sadly, the ride photo system was down, so we couldn’t get a picture for the ride. :(

On the way out of Tomorrowland, we decided to jump on the Peoplemover instead of leaving right away. Reuben and Cy joined us. It was another first for me. I loved the model of Progress City! We finally decided to head out of the park in preparation for dinner. Too bad for Coda, I saw that the princess meet and greets on Main Street had a 20 minute wait, so guess what we did!

8327860757_8a4981d5a9.jpg

Coda refused to be in these pictures…

8328914260_33348bc7c2.jpg

8327845531_4896d30032.jpg

On the way home he told me how much he regretted not having his picture taken with Rapunzel and when we got home he made me watch Tangled! :D

We eventually made it back to Bay Lake Tower where we got in a workout at the fitness center and got ready for dinner! Around 6pm, we headed over to the monorail to meet Levi and Carolyn at Epcot. When we got there we grabbed a photopass picture…

8328902346_261202fec6.jpg

…and chanced a look at the wait times board to see if there were any Soarin or Test Track fastpasses left, but no such luck. We ran (literally) to Rose & Crown where we all met up and made it just in time for our dinner reservations!

Now, some of you know that this was my first trip to Rose and Crown even though I made the shirts! After eating there, I’m a little torn and here’s why: the food was excellent but the service was terrible! Our waitress was very impatient with my allergy and was also incredibly slow! It took over 10 minutes just to get our drinks! I ordered some kind of curry and when it didn’t arrive for 15 minutes, I got up to find the bathroom inside. It was at this time that I came across the hat lady who I recognized from the shirt I made with her face on it! I introduced myself to her when she finished a song and told her that I had put her face on a shirt at the request of Carl (who she immediately recognized). She asked to see the picture I used, so I pulled it up for her, only to discover that she “hates that picture!” She informed me that I needed to ask Carl for a better picture and remake the shirt! Then she sang a song for me! It was a really fun few minutes!

By the time I got back outside, my food still hadn’t arrived! Even after that lengthy exchange inside! Eventually, it did come though. Here’s the curry with a big tortilla-type thing on top (help me out @real mad hatter):

8334224721_f2d306b7d9.jpg

It was amazing! Dessert was the Queen’s Cake with an eggnog shooter, also very good (even though I generally prefer not to have fruit in my dessert).

8335275466_ccbc7b3ee3.jpg

For whatever reason, Levi decided to tip our waitress $20 on top of the tip I left (which was not $20). He said he really liked her accent, which is apparently a good reason to tip high. After dinner we decided to forgo the fireworks in favor of Spaceship Earth and Finding Nemo. Since Levi and Carolyn had already done SSE before we arrived, they decided to go to Germany and meet us at Nemo. SSE was, of course, epic as always.

We met up with them outside of SSE instead and we got the only group photopass picture we would get with just them on this trip.

8327837555_0e58e5811b.jpg

We did Finding Nemo (Carolyn loved it!) and then roamed around the pavilion for awhile before heading back to the exit where we saw several children in strollers who were at least six-years-old.

Up next: Marriage licenses, tuberculosis, and Universal Studios.

I just noticed your new avatar! Congrats to you! Can't wait to see your wedding day photos! :)

The tortilla thing is a poppadom. They are made with lentils, I think. I like them dipped in mango chutney.

Most of my indoor pictures are from our dinner on the 27th! For lunch I had the vegetable quiche.

It was hands down the best quiche I had during my stay at the World, and I had a few. Dessert was (what else?!) the triple chocolate cupcake!

Coda refused to be in these pictures…

On the way home he told me how much he regretted not having his picture taken with Rapunzel and when we got home he made me watch Tangled! :D

We eventually made it back to Bay Lake Tower where we got in a workout at the fitness center and got ready for dinner! Around 6pm, we headed over to the monorail to meet Levi and Carolyn at Epcot. When we got there we grabbed a photopass picture…

It was amazing! Dessert was the Queen’s Cake with an eggnog shooter, also very good (even though I generally prefer not to have fruit in my dessert).

We did Finding Nemo (Carolyn loved it!) and then roamed around the pavilion for awhile before heading back to the exit where we saw several children in strollers who were at least six-years-old.

Up next: Marriage licenses, tuberculosis, and Universal Studios.
That is hilarious because last time we went to Rose and Crown I felt compelled to tip up for the same reason! I so love their accents! :)

Firstly....love the walk to MK from the Contemporary. I've heard CMs and other guests say it's longer than most people anticipate and we chose to disregard all of that. ;) Total breeze! So convenient and the girls were also big fans of the ducks we always seemed to spot along the way. I consider it one of the better perks of staying at CR and BLT!

Second...had to laugh...I have the hoodie version of Coda's angry bird Donald shirt. :D

Good choice on the BoG cupcake. DH and DD4 got that variety and really enjoyed it. Of course, DD4 also wore a good portion of it as well.

Great pics of you guys inside Small World and too funny about the R&C tipping. Can't wait to read more!

I just love this trip report....chock full of pictures like a People magazine! What, no pictures of all that hard work in the gym?

The quiche and cupcake looked amazing...worth the wait I'm sure.

Looking forward to the wedding and the hoopla...LOL! ;)
