I was at Hollywood Studios on Feb 3, 2011 and there were multiple groups young girls with "Fifteen" rain coats.
During the Fantasmic show, they went crazy as some kid showed up.
Rumor had it that it was "Peter from Argentina"

Does anyone know who Peter is? Was that Justin Beiber of Argentina?
just curious.

There was another group at EPCOT that same day (possibly the same) and my wife and I were wondering the same. All young ladies, and acted that way.

I have no idea who Peter from Argentina is, but I do know who the Fifteens are. We were at All Star Music last week and they were everywhere. We were leaving Wednesday and there was another bus load of them being dropped off. They were everywhere and stayed up all hours of the night too :brick:

It is common in Latin America to celebrate a young ladies' fifteenth birthday as a major celebration, similar to an American "sweet sixteen", only bigger. These groups were probably hosted by the parents of the celebrant.

Maybe I saw something different, but I saw a lot of dance troops/cheerleaders this last weekend. And they seemed to be everywhere. So annoying....

Are you serious??? I swear, some people have entirely too much money. They should now send all extra funds to me. I promise to appreciate it a whole lot more than a spoiled teenager.

We were at POP CENTURY las week and wer surrounded by young latin girls. Very loud and we could hear them in the pool even though we were on the back side of the resort. BANG BANG BANG the doors opened and closed late into the night.

We know someone who had a 5th birthday and they flew all the kids down in her class to Disney just for the day. I think it was a total of 18 people On a private jet. We heard the grand total was like 44k.

Totally serious. A typical fifteen's party is more like a debutante ball in their culture. Some opt to spend the money on a trip to WDW.

You'd be surprised. I lived in Brazil for two years, and these parties get really, really expensive.

I asked them if they spoke english and the girl didn't but there was a young boy with them who did. He said they are all 15 and they are from Argentina.

We found it rather creepy that the group appeared to be chaperoned by bunch of guys in there twenties. If you noticed there were not very many Adult females in the group. Maybe a few but it was mostly these 20-ish men:eek:.

We were speculating that a group of guys got together and decided to start this trip so they could travel with a bunch of young girls. We even saw one girl and one of the older guys holding hands.

Maybe we are wrong but the whole thing did not look right, at least by our american standards of conduct. No way I would send my 15 year ol off with a bunch of twenty something guys.

The guys were getting them all riled up during the Lights Motors Action show and security came over and put a stop to it, but the guys were rude and ignored them and they got corrected again.

Yep. It's called a Quinceanera (keen-see-ah-nyer-ah). It's not just about turning 15, it's a coming of age celebration similar to the Hebrew Bar and Bat Mitzvah. Just as in the case of Latin weddings, the cost is usually split up amongst all the members of the extended family so that no parent is bearing the burden alone.

They should have been kicked from the show the second time... tour groups no matter where they are from or what they are representing have NO right to detract the enjoyment of the resort from their neighbors...... I wish sometimes that Disney would Chomp Chomp on these groups from time to time to send a message.

Striker?

There you go not speakin' American again.

A striker is another way to say "forward" in soccer. Forward is a position like point guard in basketball or pitcher in baseball. River Plate is one of the two most important soccer teams in Argentina. Kinda like the Red Sox of soccer in Argentina.

This can't be serious. Is it? Because if Disney is gonna start banning things that detract from my enjoyment, I'm gonna go ahead and put my vote in for banning strollers and crying children before they start "chomp chomping" on tour groups. Then again, how about they just ban everyone besides me? Other guests make we wait in line and that detracts from my enjoyment of the resorts.

If they're misbehaving, that's one thing, but to say they have "no right" to do this and that is a bit over the top.
