100 Best Movie Songs

5 Disney songs...I think they were trying too hard to come up with unique songs...and where are such songs as "Whistle While You Work"?

Not saying that the whole list should have been Disney songs (well, maybe), but there's a few classics I can think of that should have been there first...

I counted 6 Disney songs, actually (well, 7 if you count "Rainbow Connection," since Disney owns Kermit now, but I guess that's a technicality).

Where's "I'm Alright" from Caddyshack? Bill Murray, gophers, golf courses...it's a recipe for toe-tapping musical goodness.

And...8 Mile was a good film, but seriously...putting that Eminem song in there was obviously just a pander to the kiddies.

DMC-12

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
I watched that special on CBS last night... overall I agree with the list... Minus the whole Eminiem "8 Mile" Thing.

The two that raised my eyebrows the most were "My Heart Will Go On" being so high. I still want to running from the room screaming whenever that overplayed song comes on the radio. The other one was "9 to 5." Just kinda surprised that it made the list. I would have chosen "Grease" or "Hopelessly Devoted to You" over that one (I thought Grease should have had two in there).

Good points, I definitely thought Grease should have been represented better on the list, at least with "Grease." As played out as "My Heart Will Go On" is it's still a great song, and WAAAYYYY more deserving than "Lose Yourself." To think what great song could have been there in its place. Grrr :brick:

I concur, Scott. How many people really remember "9 to 5" today (the song or the movie)?

"Rainbow Connection" is one of my all-time faves. I always have friends asking me to lapse into my Kermit voice and sing that one.

I have to say I agree with just about every song mentioned and the fact that I know the words to most of them scares me.

Singin in the Rain...a great song from a great movie. *sighs Gene Kelly*

Disney should have been represented more on that list. Songs like... "A Whole New World" and "Circle of Life", should be on there; not songs like "Lose Yourself" or "9 to 5"

Glad Over of the Rainbow was number one. Good to see classic Disney songs on there, shame there are not nay newer Disney classic songs that will be remember like that.

I can do Kermie!!

*clears throat*
Why are there so many songs about rainbows......
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.

When we meet sometime at WDW, remind me and I'll serenade you with it!

EDIT: can't believe I messed up the lyrics! :hammer:  :o

Yes, I must agree. ::SIGH::. I love all his movies he's just so hot. Oops, I mean he was  Why can't there be more like him now?! All that's left for me to drool at is Johnny Depp hehe :slurp:

I know what you mean about knowing a lot of the songs. I know a LOT of them also and I'm only 19. I know "Cheek to Cheek" for cryin' out loud . But, I don't know it from Top Hat I know it from I Love Lucy :D

Well, I don't know how good Scott's Kermie is, but I think mine is pretty solid. :D

(And I know the right lyrics, too.) :animwink:

Seems like a "sing off" is in order.
