I just booked 2 rooms for Feb 2009 and the room for my mom (2 adults) came out less expensive than my room (2 adults/1 child). When I asked why I was told there is a $10 per additional person (over 2 ppl) per night charge (after being put on hold for a while for her to get the answer).
I asked if this was new and was told NO, but I've been there twice this year with multiple rooms (from 1-4 ppl) and rates were always the same. Has anyone else had this and know if it is true? The woman just didnt sound too convincing that this was correct so I'm wondering if I should call back to question (this was directly thru Disney). Thanks!

We were there in Feb. 06 and were charged $10, per adult, per room, at a value resort. The cost goes up if you are in a moderate, deluxe, etc.

There is an additional fee per night per adult over 2 in a single room. $10 for Values, $15 for Mods, and $20 for Deluxes. Unless there are more than 2 adults (age 18 or over) in your room, there should not be any extra charges.

I'd call back and see what you can find out- talk to a supervisor if you have to.

The one exception is the Family Suites at ASMU. You can have over 2 adults without getting charged the $10..I don't remember the exact number ff the top of my head.

I would definitely call back. I always understood that fee to be for the 3rd and 4th adults in the room. Like another poster said, I would ask to speak to a supervisor if you have to.

Good Luck!!

I am positive that I read on this on the disney website and you are correct. Definitely worth checking into. (Is it possible that an adult constitues any one over the age of 10 like the park tickets? That is the only explanation I can think of...)

I believe an "adult" in terms of the room is over 17, correct? I would def call back b/c I am almost positive, as others have said, that the $10 charge is for the 3rd and/or 4th adults.

For a typical room, the quoted room rate is for up to 2 adults and 2 children (ages 3-17); a 5th child is OK at no extra charge as long as that child is UNDER 3 years old.

There is no way that there is any legitimate surcharge for ANY ROOM AT DISNEY WORLD with 2 adults and one child, as long as the "child" is UNDER 18 years of age.

An "extra person" charge is ONLY for a 3rd adult or 4th adult in the same room. Perhaps the CM thought the child was an adult.

A mistake was made by the CM, and it will be fixed. Go get 'em!

The room rates are for 2 adults and you should only be charged a rate for extra people iof there is a 3rd (or more) adults in the room. Did you have anything else in your room you may have been charged for...crib, ______, fridge etc?

OK...the word that is blanked out is C O T why is that a bad word? am I missing something?

It does stink when you get that initial awesome room rate only to remember that you have to add for any adults over two! For some it does not make a difference, but $100 to some is meals for a family for a day!

I guess they feel that an adult uses more soap, more toilet paper, more water, etc... :) Not fair to assume:p:ROFLOL:

Enjoy!
