I think it's fairly guessable that the livestream bit is a setup, and then "things happen" to justify the 3D effects. I'll eat crow if I'm wrong but like, it just makes sense. Philharmagic isn't an actual concert, after all, that's just the setup to get you in the seats.
I mean, maybe? Hopefully? Philhar and HISTA both include(d) the idea that “something else happens” in their attraction descriptions. This one, though, goes into detail about exactly what we’ll be watching in the livestream and even mentions how it culminates. What would “gathering in the Tree of Life to watch a livestream” even be a setup to? By the nature of a livestream, all the action is happening elsewhere (unlike HISTA, where the pretense was that you’re actually in the audience watching real people on a stage, much like Bug). And I assume there won’t be any “magic” like in Philhar that suddenly transports us somewhere else, since that doesn’t really fit the Zootopia franchise.
I would also think that if something more exciting than watching a livestream is going to happen, they would have at least teased that to build interest.
Like, I’m genuinely not trying to be difficult, I’d love to be wrong, but this (as announced) feels super weak to me. Hopefully you guys are right, but the recent pivot toward no or little tension in the majority of new attractions doesn't give me a ton of faith.
