Excellent!!!Good to see that hats from DL will work at WDW.
I think the chances are even worse at WDW because the majority of the visitors are only there for vacation. DL can sometimes do it (especially on times like NYE) because they have an overwhelmingly local crowd. There will probably be a media event or something here just to show how good it can work, but I doubt you'll ever see it be much more than something to make more money off of.
Agree with you on them being very cool. I can see getting one pair for a family of four but there is no way I'd spend $100 of ears when we are once every couple of years visitors. With my kids fighting over them I might say no all together and stick with the disney glow toys we got at the dollar store at home before we went. After watching the demo video over and over I think it is really cool technology. Always been a fan of WoC and I think the Glow Ears in WDW would be a nice addition to the shows they have. I did notice that it actually makes the viewing experience better... as someone stated when they go off you see a plethera of cellphones and cameras, but I didn't notice any of those when the ears were lit up. IMO I would rather see glowing ears interacting that a dark crowd with spots of various cell phones and ipads glowing. I think the price point is a bit high to get so many people using them, but I imagine they will keep this going for some time and year after year people will build up their glowing ear collections and eventually the parks will be littered with them. I give it 2-3 years before it really has the visual impact unless they offer some discounts and get them more affordable or a perk of stayin onsite.
To be fair - they also work 24/7 like any other ears. Because its a hat...I'm spending enough money as it is when I go to WDW later this month. (Happy to do so, BTW). Sorry, I'm not going to spend $25 for a glowing mouse-ear hat that only works at one show. It's like paying for headphones on an airplane but you're never going to use them again.

It's been established that Disneyland hats will work at Disney World.I want one! Indeed the effects will work better if the majority of the crowd decides to wear them, but this won't stop me purchasing one, it's the thought of being part of the show that counts.
Can you use the same pair of ears to every park and does it have a GPS installed to track which park are you in? It'd be great if you're staying at one of monorail resorts or the Boardwalk and your ears still worked.
As long as TDO's Marketing Monster kicks it into high gear I'm sure it will go off well.
I was going to ask what the current situation is at DL.

Did they do a giveaway at DL?On opening night they will pass out several thousand free ear hats to happy tourists and get lots of great publicity shots and videos of the massive crowd all Glowing With The Show. Ms. Fickley-Baker on the corporate Blog will then use those photos and video clips to breathlessly announce their arrival and how super-duper MAGICAL! they are, all for the low price of only $24.99 plus tax.
Then a week later there will be one or two people wearing them out of 5,000 at Fantasmic or fireworks and the effect will be lost. Stacks of the extra-expensive hats will sit in big piles in the Emporium for the next 18 months before the whole thing is quietly abandoned.
Also, they are much heavier and thicker and made of denser material than the average hat. It will be hot and sticky to wear them in Florida for much of the year. But enjoy the marketing kickoff!
