I remember how fast they put the walls around Rock n Roller Coaster, and that was a considerably bigger task!

This is a real sign that AK is maturing, folks. Once FFF and Everest open, AK will be a very good park that nobody could possibly overlook.

I might actually consider seeing this show now that the theater will be air conditioned. Hah

are the making it bigger or just closing off the gaps? CLosing off the gaps won't take that long. And AC is fairly simple. Month seems right to me. Anyway, good news about that

Two of the inner walls are already up in the back of the Giraffe and Lion sections as well as the coopela at the top of the theater. Air conditioning is already being pumped in, although, it doesn't feel much cooler since the enclosure isn't complete.

Happy that they are enclosing the theater for this awesome show and sad because they are doing during my next trip.

I guess I was just discouraged by it taking them 4 mos. to basically repaint the outside of the GMR and make very few changes on the inside. I guess this can be done in a month, provided they don't work at the same, dead-slow pace they rehabbed GMR, or worse...Matterhorn Bobsleds and the King Arthur Carrousel at DL

That wasnt such a minor GMR rahab. They...

- Replaced the entire sound system in the show building
- Replaced all the on-vehicle sound systems
- Updated the effects in the alien, gangster and western scene
- New props and foliage throughout
- Reprogrammed and rehabbed the major animatronics
- Repainted entire exterior
- Repainted and replaced interior set scenes
- New script
- New neon signs on the extrior

Thats a pretty big rehab!

I'm not quite sure if you missed something or not, so I'll just re-state it FOTLK show will TEMPORARILY be closing in August to enclose the theater enabling it to be climate-controlled. (In other words, making a cool place for people to see a show in a rather "hot" park) The same show will reopen in the same theater in a month after it is enclosed. Hope that answers your question.

Eh... I would not hold your breath as far as AK Maturing... I mean if they keep the park open PAST 5PM once FFF and Everest is open... THEN maybe there will be some hope that this will be more than just a half day park...lol

The AC and walls that you speak of are all very temporary.
