I've never really cared for it. I don't like the Muppets, don't find them funny at all and find them a little creepy actually. The show itself is very dated and I'd rather see it go personally, or at least replaced with a brand new Muppet experience just to appease the fans. It's had it's day.

Personally I would like to see Festival of Fantasy scrapped completely and replaced with a new parade so we get two brand new ones. Festival is very sad sight these days and well past its prime.

Been beat to it but like most 'Disney' properties, they are stories from the public domain which Disney took and did what they wanted with them whether that be make a movie or a theme park attraction. Disney did eventually make a Tom Sawyer movie, 'Tom and Huck' in 1995.
