WDW Picture of the Day (Part 7)

Yes, it is an HDR. But I try to keep my HDR's as realistic looking as possible, not the painting like look of some HDR work.

    The glass thread

I have several favorites in my bag. My two prime lenses(Canon 85 and 50) and both fantastic for dark rides. And my ultra wide Canon 17-40 makes for some really creative stuff. But, I think my favorite is the Canon 24-70. It's got a great focal length, wonderful colors and sharpness, and the 2.8...

    How many photos per visit?

My last trip clocked in at around 1700. But a lot of them ended up being junk, and I deleted a bunch.

    Why Do You Shoot RAW?

I shoot RAW all the time, for most of the reasons already posted in this thread. I don't have any work that needs to be sent out immediately, it's really nice to be able to fix the White Balance on images(inside of Pirates of the Caribbean rings a bell), and just being able to fix things that I...

    HDR? Yes/No?

I've used both Photomatix and Photoshop for HDR stuff. Had more success in Photomatix, but still have to do a fair amount of work in Photoshop after tone mapping in Photomatix to make the image work.

Incredible Hi ISO shots on the new Nikon D3

I think it's safe to say that if one gets a hold of either the 1DMKIV or the D3s, Peter Pan's Flight and the Haunted Mansion don't stand a chance, and will finally be conquered.

WDWFigment's Photo Trip Novel Part II: October 2009 - Legends of the Fall

Tom, after reading this entire trip report(yes I am that good of a friend, or perhaps just have more free time than I should), I can honestly say that I am more upset about not going on this trip than I was while you guys were actually there. So thanks a bunch :lookaroun . It really sounds like...

    Wide open: Blur That Background!

I was looking for anything where the lens is at it's maximum aperture. So if you've got an f/4 telephoto, feel free to post shots from that, just at f/4!

    Wide open: Blur That Background!

Hey everybody, I thought a cool idea for a thread would be to strut your stuff and show us your best show with a wide open aperture, i.e. f/1.4 or f/2.8. Here's a shot of the the Haunted Mansion gravestones at f/1.4 to get things rolling. Click to go to Flickr!

    post what camera you use!

Well, seeing as I'm a Type 1 diabetic whose hands shake quite often due to low blood sugar, I guess I need to rethink what I'm doing.

    Your biggest WDW photographic disaster?

In August, I was at the Poly on my first night in WDW. My tickets didn't start until the next day, so I spent the night touring the MK hotels and was planning on shooting Wishes from the Poly beach. I was SO excited to be in WDW that I simply didn't think, and A) left my cell phone at Ft...

    Wishes: Post Your Best Shots

Tom, I love your idea to start beefing up the Photo board here. Here are a few shots of mine, wouldn't say they're my best though. I plan on getting that in January! Click each to see their Flickr pages with all the info on both shots!

    AP Discount Question

Thanks for your help guys. Just so I have an idea, will the discounts for January most likely be close to the current discounts? According to Mousesavers, AKL and WL are both currently $139/night. If I could get a rate similar to that, I would definitely book one of those hotels. If it were...

    AP Discount Question

Does anyone know when the January 2010 AP Discount rates will be released for the resorts? I'm booking a trip for the first time with an AP, and I'm trying to decide where to stay. Since I can't find the discounted resort rates, it's making my planning a little difficult. Any help would be...

Why do people stay seven - ten days at Disney?

I usually head to the World twice a year, hopefully more in 2010. In January, I usually stay anywhere from 5-7 days. It's just a nice escape from the real world and the cold weather of New Jersey. Then in the summer, we go for two weeks. We only get a 10 day Magic Your Way since that's the...

Illuminations (2000): Reflections of Earth is 10!

Happy Anniversary to my favorite show at WDW! The best thing is that, even 10 years later, the show is still fresh, and get rave reviews from people who have only seen it for the first time, or from those who have seen it hundreds of times before. A true classic! Here's to at least 10 more years!
