Eh, I like the new Canon that was announced early this week:

It has 1080p video too with multiple frame rates and a whole bunch more, example video here:

Vincent Laforet has a blog post about the video here:
http://blog.vincentlaforet.com/2009/10/19/lights-out-camera-action/

The video was shot with natural lighting and only used 1, yes 1, reflector and only once during the filming. The shot with the reflector was with the girl.

The Canon 1DmkIV has some amazing high ISO capabilities as well. I can't wait until the technology starts to trickle down to the crop sensor (read: cheaper) models. I am just glad the MP marketing-BS seems to have ended.

I tried posting info on the new Canon 1Ds Mark IV but apparently it was not liked by the site. (shrugs) Anywho, I like the Mark IV better after seeing video shot with it, in 1080p and capable of shooting video in ISO 6400 at that. For $5000 this is definitely worth every penny, now I just need to find that kind of money for it.

I wonder how ultra high ISO cameras would be of benefit in WDW? The parades at night are really bright, the fireworks need time exposures.

I'm not overly impressed with the samples from the D3s, they lack shadow detail and the 1DIV 102,400 seems impressionistic IMO.

Dark rides are the no brainer, but there are a multitude of uses. No offense, but what are you honestly expecting from that high of an ISO? Those cameras look as if they'll perform around the same level at ISO 100,000+ that my D90 performs at with ISO 6400.

I think it's safe to say that if one gets a hold of either the 1DMKIV or the D3s, Peter Pan's Flight and the Haunted Mansion don't stand a chance, and will finally be conquered.

Gonna have to check the archives.

However most of the interior footage of Martin's new HM video was shot with a Canon 5DmkII at 12,800 ISO and some seriously fast lenses.

Uhhhhh...... We've already done this with on HM the current gen of cameras. I;ve shot HM at 12,800 ISO already.

That doesn't mean they've been conquered in still form. I've seen plenty of images maxing out the ISO on the current gen of cameras, and they're far from perfect. 12,800 ISO is a far cry from 100,000+ ISO.
