I love it when "A Christmas Story" begins to play non-stop. Although, all the fun is drained out of it by the time Chistmas actually gets here.

We try to alternate. (one trip with kids, next trip without) If you have never been as a couple, I highly recommend doing so! While it's fun to go with the kids, going alone gives you the chance to BE a kid.
