    MSEP Returns

Indeed, the 60th anniversary was the last time we ran off a Tom Staggs approved budget. Once Chapek got in, he promptly started having his team cut budgets and scale back entertainment. It was obvious from the start. When you look at the scope and breadth of the entertainment offerings in DLR...

What celebrities did you see at Disneyland Resort?

So many over the years, a few notables Kobe Bryant at (Midway Mania and Fireworks by the Castle) Gwen Stefani and her family (Radiator Springs and Autopia) Hugh Hefner and his entourage at Space Mountain way back at the 50th ( we were on a redirect on a restart at the sent over to the DAS...

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

Very interesting, good data. Can't blame them on Bengal BBQ, some of the better tasting protein in the parks, a few skewers with a hummus plate and a tiger tail is YUM!. A question for you? Are your cousins SW fans or were they ever SW fans and how do they feel about the new movies. I have...

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

Exactly right, they were great successes. Then again, Parks and Resorts wasn't run by Bob Chapek, who has really been a terrible chair. DCA is a total mess now and Chapek has cut poor SW:GE to the bones and removed most of the live entertainment from the entire DLR. Sad state of affairs in Anaheim.

Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion gets holiday makeover in nearly half the time: ‘It’s been crazy’ - OCR/SCNG

I think this is true, last night had a huge crush of people for the evening. It appears that the local lower tier APs really came out for this. It appears that the quick turnaround on overlay is paying off for them. Love it or hate it, the mansion gets LOTS of attention once HMH goes "live".

Is Anybody Else Annoyed With Hyperspace Mountain's Stay?

Hyperspace Mountain will likely stay until the release of Ep IX as a marketing tie-in. Chapek is all about the marketing synergy. I think that is the only reason this overlay is back and still running. Expect a Ep IX preview in the theater just before release. I think Chapek holds to the...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge opening day reports - Disney's Hollywood Studios

It might be fair to say that Chapek cheaped out on a sure win, believing he could skim more money by offering guests less. No one forced Chapek to cut back so much entertainment and kinetic entertainment elements.

    Rumor Entertainment Cuts Coming

There's plenty of rumor they don't run Paint the Night because of cost. Word is they're cutting Laughing Stock. Chapek seems to like cutting live park entertainment. Quite honestly, I'm not sure what Chapek actually likes about Disneyland at all.

Paradise Park to be consumed by a Pixar expansion?

The greatest failing of TLM was the fact that a ride based on the sea has not a drop of water, thus no kinetic energy. It is all plastic and projections. Imagine if TLM was a boat ride like its a small world or better, like PotC. It would be legendary.

News One Day at Disney CM Documentary (Secret Project) D23 Announcement

I think it is in response to that, more specifically the Abigail Disney story earlier this year that brought a lot of negative attention.

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

Also as part of the consideration is the price of operation per guest. WDW numbers are higher in aggregate, but its an enormous operation compared to DLR. Also, the visits are different. A lot of WDW guests are once in a lifetime guests, unlike Anaheim which is based on huge numbers of repeat...

D23: The D stands for Disappointing (Updated)

The documentary is probably in response to the Abigail Disney story. Cheaping out is sadly what Bob Chapek does, it's been his whole career and sadly it has largely worked. Lots of business managers cut budgets in huge organizations to push up profit for a short time. It works as long as they...

Lady brought a free pass in from 1985 for Disneyland...

If he found out, he'd probably demand that she only get credit for the amount of admission in 1985. ;) Not inflation adjusted of course :D

    Tomorrowland Overhaul Speculation

Whatever changes they make, I think they need to keep the lagoon. There is a kinetic energy with it that adds a unique charm to the park. It would be really cool if they could utilize it in a new ride of sorts. The amazing thing about the Subs when they were first built is that there was no ride...

News Mickey & Friends Parking Structure To Receive Updates

Glad to see Mickey and Friends getting some love. Still prefer it to all of the other spots. Pixar Pals is too dark. M&F is well lit. If they fix up the old Chip and Dale level it will be really nice.

Very cool of Disney to honor that ticket. I do wonder if that ticket itself was worth the price of admission to a collector? Hope she enjoyed her day at the park!
