So I'm watching the Christmas parade on TV...

Miserable I can't help but add my two cents to the debate going on about the parade. As FL Residents with newly expired Seasonal Passes, my family and I spent a lot of time at DW this year. We all figured that a wonderful way to close out our Disney experience was to watch the Disney Christmas...

i got 100 dollars to spend what do i buy at mission: space??

Last time I was there, I had my eye on a Mickey Mouse Space Helmet Cookie Jar. I'm not sure of the price but I'm pretty sure it was high-end yet under $100. It struck that perfect balance of kitch and charm that I have a fondness for.

    The Backlot Tour re-opens today!

Alas, my belief is that the average person hasn't the foggiest clue (let alone the interest) about what it takes to make a movie. Sets are just uninteresting junk to them. Going to MGM is about rides rides rides. To quote a guy from the last time I took the tour (years ago) after the tram...

    The Backlot Tour re-opens today!

I haven't really enjoyed the backlot tour since they ripped down the Bulldog Cafe from the 'Rocketeer' movie.

    Confused about Disney's latest movies

Look -- lets agree to disagree, all right. I'm not even remotely a fan of Roseanne Barr, but she did a fine job in Home on the Range. I'll admit that it's interesting to see what an Disney actor has done that's considered un-Disneylike, but to hold that against them is sad. I mean, look up...

    Confused about Disney's latest movies

Good values include such 'way out' concepts as forgiveness. Roseanne is hardly my cup of tea but I can't think of much that she's done lately to warrant this kind of animosity except for being annoying...and to my knowledge that hasn't been outlawed yet. As for the baseball/National Anthem...

    Confused about Disney's latest movies

I'm afraid my family and I liked it too. I realize that this began as the Anti-"Home on the Range" thread but it was pretty entertaining. Not a Disney "A" picture but entertaining nevertheless. I'm not personally the biggest Roseanne fan in the world (far from it) but she fit the character...

    Changes coming to Fantasyland

Good news about Small World, a rehab is necessary. The last time my family went it seemed murky, the sound was terrible and I could have sworn some of the dolls weren't working at all. I'm not Small World's biggest fan but my kids love it and it really needs to shine again. I'd better get...

    Does this only irk me?

...or...blame 20th Century Fox since they are the studio that produced it. I suppose we can't expect everyone to know exactly who released what film now, can we? And despite it's flaws (and there are many), Don Bluth (one of the great Disney animators once upon a time) made it. It gets...

    Family Traditions at WDW

This is about as minor as you can get but bear with me: Whenever I'm at EPCOT, I pick up 5 'Curly Wurly' candy bars at the British Tea/Candy Shoppe. My family and I share them on the car ride home. The 'Curly Wurly' is (basically) the Brit version of the 'Marathon' bar. When I was a kid the...

    The "Cool Out" Ride

I just KNEW that this thread would mention the Wedway Peoplemover. -- yeah yeah, they can call it the TTA all they want, but I ain't gonna do it...nope -- 100% agree with you. When the crowds get pushy and the heat gets too much, we always bolt for the Peoplemover. Calm, relaxing and...

    Does this only irk me?

Re: It gets on my nerves when someone is wearing a looney tunes or spongebob t-shirt at W Uh -- not really. I usually wear a shirt that's comfortable when I visit WDW. If it's my Spongebob Hawaiian shirt, so be it. I'm not doing it out of spite, I'm just comfy in the shirt. I'm also allowed...

    Hiya :) I'm New And hav a Q.

Welcome. Favorite Movie: Beauty & the Beast. My wife and I consider it to be "our" movie. Great songs. Romantic. Favorite Character: Uncle Scrooge. Why? He's actually more like me than any of the mainstream Disney bunch (except the rich part) and downright crotchety. He was also...

Can mistake of PotC be "fixed"?

The BOOM (sorry -- the BOOM!)would come from the powder exploding from the inside of the cannons themselves. It's never loud enough to please my Surround-Sound expectations. It just sounds like hissing to me.

Can mistake of PotC be "fixed"?

In the end, I think the book made the protagonist reconsider some of the wholesale attraction-slaughter that was done simply for the sake of doing it. Yes -- a complete refit can be done, but should it be done? I'm not so sure. I'm far from a purist but Pirates isn't something dated like the...
