How are the parks right now?

We were there July 2 thru 6th. There were crowds, but not as bad as I expected for a holiday weekend. The special July 4th Fireworks show at MK on 7/3 and 7/4 did attract huge crowds at night. The fireworks were totally worth it, since they were going off in every direction! We did Genie + only...

    Dear Abby

Totally understand this ...we are frequent WDW vacationers, and over the years we have developed our own routines and speed. Other people just slow us down or want to waste too much time with chatting and visiting. Disney minutes are expensive and we prefer doing our own thing. For this reason...

    Restaurants with Wait Lists

Is there a way to see a list of Restaurants that offer Wait Lists?

Trip Report Shrouded In A Daft Disguise *COMPLETED*

Your photos are gorgeous, but make me sad to see the park so empty. As much as we complain about the crowds, it's always been our happy Place. Thanks for sharing.

Have you seen Song of the south in its entirety

I'm over 65, and I remember seeing it a very long time ago. I remembered the storyteller and the animated tales about Brer Rabbit, etc. I was probably under 10 years old the last time I saw it. But I will always love the theme song Zip-a-dee-doo-dah. It's a joyous and uplifting song!

    Any truth in this

As sad as this sounds, I do agree with your assessment. I certainly wouldn't want to pay big bucks for a Disney vacation, only to have limited attractions, shows, restaurants open. As much as we love Disney, I'd need to know their game plan before booking right now. (We're out-of-state annual...

What's Still On and What's Now Off

To cut back on park capacity, would you imagine that they would consider eliminating annual passes?

How Many Days for You? Part 12

Our countdown would be 5 days from today, so I'm so sad as this was a birthday celebration. But we'd rather be safe at home during this crisis, and start planning, hopefully, for an even better trip later on! I just cancelled our Resort (Coronado) and dinner reservations yesterday. I was...

Do you really want to return quickly?

I agree with you. I would hate to take the chance that they would re-open too soon, and cause a resurgence of the virus. We were supposed to go in 5 days, on April 1st, and I am heart-broken. But we just have to put our plans on the back burner, and save more money to make our next visit...

Is the parks going to be open in May of this year and is there going to be screening done at the hotels.

Orange County has issued a Stay-at-Home order through April 9th, at least. Disney has reinforced this order for all their cast members. You could be sure this will get extended again, if the numbers go up. :( This is a health emergency...sad as it is to see our plans ruined, it's better than...

    April trips canceled by Disney?

We have reservations for 4/1 to 4/10, at Coronado. I just checked My Plans on MDE, and it's still there. Also the original closure dates till the end of March are still there also. I guess it will take awhile to get updated. We were going to cancel anyway. :(

    Kilimanjaro safari while pregnant?

My daughter-in-law was 6 mos pregnant on our last trip, and she did not ride Safari, or any of the mountains. Why take a chance with your baby just to go on a ride. You can enjoy it when your child is ready for his/her Disney fun!!

Am I Alone... WDW Food is BAD

We've noticed some decline in the past year or so as well. Some old standby restaurants that we always counted on for a great experience have disappointed of late...such as Kona Cafe, Sana'a, 50's Prime Time, O'Hana, The Wave, etc. The quality of the food, the portion sizes, the selection and...

    Well Illuminations this is it

I have loved Illuminations-ROE, and bought the soundtrack on both cassette (yes, that long ago!) and CD. I added it to my I-Pod and used it as my go-to walking music for years. It brings tears to my eyes every time we see it, and I will miss it terribly. I know Disney will replace it with...

    Pulling kids from school?

We took our kids numerous times, at various ages, due to the fact that my work didn't allow me to get summer or holiday weeks off for vacation, until I accrued higher seniority. It isn't always possible to coordinate work/school schedules. I always notified the teachers in advance , so they...

What Disney resort/park food did you like so much, that you made it at home?

We loved the Butternut Squash soup at Boma so much, that I asked the server if they share recipes, and she gave me the email address to request it. I received the full recipe and have made it a few times.

Absolutely! This was a much better ending. The current ending pales in comparison. Just have to upgrade it a bit to allow for recent technological advances.
