Would You Take a Bullet Train from Anaheim to Las Vegas?... Brightline West

Oh, there's room for all the Ranchos. All of the Springfields have survived (and more impressively, all the Riversides).

I seriously considered using that exact example, but I just couldn't use the "F-word".

Would You Take a Bullet Train from Anaheim to Las Vegas?... Brightline West

We could probably do an entire thread dedicated to official city names and their popular alternatives. Bonus points for how offended locals get when hearing some of them. *NOTE: As much as I like being proper, I just can't bring myself to say "I'm heading up to San Buenaventura".

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

Maybe they should just avoid the projection and bring back something like this: I seem to remember one with blue/violet eyes that were hard to focus on. This was always creepier to me than the newer versions.

New Tomorrowland @ Disneyland? Is this the year it finally gets announced? No, and that’s OK

I get what you're trying to convey about your feelings. But if you take a step back, doesn't it seem a bit contradictory since all those Disney castles are so quintessentially European? I can't help think of this line from Breaking Away...

It'll be interesting to see how well this works. Probably similar to Gogo Inflight that some airlines use. Hopefully there's enough bandwidth to share with everybody on the train (or they can employ multiple receivers). Last time I checked, Amtrak utilized a Verizon hotspot for their internet...

Plastic wrapped seating/ride vehicles sitting at Peoplemover load station?

I imagine there might be significant differences in code 1999-2006 Vs. 1967-2004. Many people have mentioned this in the past, but I've got mixed feelings. It would certainly add back some of that kinetic visual energy that the land is missing. But it might also send the message: "Sure, for...

I'm trying my best to comprehend how it (the actual levitation) works, but I'm still having trouble. As far as penciling out goes: "While traditional transportation systems require the deployment of dedicated guideways, Ironlev allows existing tracks to be repurposed. And while over 60% of the...

Apparently, they will need to (or are just going to) demo the old shuttle track between Whiskey Pete's and Buffalo Bill's. Really no loss, since it gets utilized about as much as our PeopleMover track.

Plastic wrapped seating/ride vehicles sitting at Peoplemover load station?

Sort of. That was built from scratch, avoiding the retro-fit issues we would unfortunately have to deal with. Also (for me at least) one of the unique aspects of the Peoplemover was stepping into your own little "conversation pit", unrestrained by individual seats and lap bars. That also seemed...

FWIW, here's a little post-groundbreaking video regarding Brightline West. At about 8:27, Wes Edens is asked about over time connecting Rancho Cucamonga to Union Station. He says they are connected via Metrolink (technically true). He'd love to see that line get electrified "and get down...

New Tomorrowland @ Disneyland? Is this the year it finally gets announced? No, and that’s OK

I don't claim to have any idea about what they might be planning, but... There's a way to do inductive charging in the load/unload lanes. This Company has solutions for buses and trucks in use already. Further, since Autopia cars are usually never more than a foot or two off of the center...
