    DVC pros & cons

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but I have been a Florida resident all of my life and the hotel tax is 11%, however, you have forgotten to include the state sales tax and Orange county taxes of 7%, brining your grand total to 18%. Check you bill, you will pay 18% in tax on your room. With DVC...

    Dvc. Help!

DVC is awesome! The places I have gone and stayed would have been impossible otherwise. Yes, it costs a lot to start, but it has been well worth it. The keys to DVC are as follows: 1. How willing are you to travel and stay Sun-Thurs (cheaper) 2. How far ahead are you willing to plan...

Space Mountain 101's, TTA Passengers get a very special treat...

I remember seeing RNR being built and the coaster going up before the building around it. It was neat.

    Least favorite attraction at MGM.

I know it is not an official attraction, but I vote for the Parking Lot at MGM. It was designed by a moron. In my oppinion, they should stop demolishing Residential Street and actually use it. They should move MGM parking to EPCOT and provide trams or a monorail like at MK/TTC since half of...

Least favorite attraction at The Magic Kingdom

I vote for Alien Encounter. The attraction is lame and to date it is the only one where the Pre-show is significantly better than the actual show.

    Favorite Themed Hotel?

I would say there is a tie between the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Wilderness Lodge. AK Lodge wins on theming alone, but WL has much better rooms (including DVC rooms!).

Whatever Happened To The Eagle Pines Resort?

It is still on the books to be a DVC resort, however, the Saratoga Springs resort has been pushed ahead of it. DVC is still doing well, and look for that resort in the next few year.

    Secrets, tricks, overlooked details

You can include information from some of the second and third story windows on Main Street and other nostalgic items. For Example: Who run the Seven Summits Expeditions? Where are the Mailboxes on Main Street From? What is the "motto" of the Walt Disney World Railroad? and so...

    Best ride?

Depending on how Mission Space turns out to be, Disney has five of the best themed rides on the planet. The first one they came out with was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This coaster is mild, but totally themed from start to finish. Very few ugly supports here. The second one they...

    Tower of Terror News

Actually, from a Science perspective, this would kill you unless you had sufficient air, food, and water added, and a place for your waste products to leave. :king:

    WDW history - 1960's thru 1971-72

A good book from an insider I read recently is "What Would Walt Have done?" It was not the best "written" book, but a lot of information.

    Castaway Cay question

It is called Mount Rustmore. That island is incredible. I have been there twice and cannot wait to go back. I just hope it is not two years in between visits again, but oh well.

    Great Movie Ride Update

Yes, his name is Chernabog, and you may see him in Fantasmic or Spectromagic, weather permitting. You know, maybe they could include Yensid in your "Villians" ride, but again, please stop destroying old rides to build new ones. Update the old ones and add new ones. MGM has become a 1/2 day...

    Great Movie Ride Update

The news I heard while I was at MGM recently was that the scene from Street Light Parade was being removed and replaced with a scene from Chicago. That is all that I heard besides the cleaning, reparing, and updating of the final movie.

Can I take an infant on tame rides?

Yes, your child can ride any attraction they you can hold him/her on. In fact, we took my son to EPCOT for the first time at 12 days old. Well, we are fanatics. Just have fun!

Ride Opinion: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Simply put, BTMRR is one of the best themed roller coasters ever created (along with Splash, RNRC and Space). I hope Everest can live up to its quality standard.

    1st time cruiser here

I could not have said it any better. I have been on the Wonder twice and it was Wonderful. There is too much to see and do. We are going to go on the Magic sometime in the future, but right now I am moving to a new house so I have to save, save, save.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire!

I have been in the hot seat 7 times, but I still do not have a "cruise vacation." I got a polo shirt and a lot of hats and pins. Maybe next time. You know on the cruise they have a similar show called "Who wants to be a mouseketeer?" and it only has 10 questions. Here you win shipboard...

Most times on an attraction in one day?

How about RnRC 6 times in a row without getting off the ride except to change trains. That day I heard all 5 soundtracks. It was the Passholder preview back in 1999.

    Restaurant Overlooking "Small World" ?

Yes, the Pinnochio Village Haus overlooks the Small World queue and loading areas. The food is not that good in my oppinion, and it is way overpriced! You get a better meal at the Columbia Harbour house near Haunted Mansion, and you can sit over the "Bridge" between Fantasyland and Liberty...
