Have fun on your cruise!!! I think I saw that you are going on a three night? If so, don't waste your time in Nassau, unless you want to see Atlantis... Nassau has got to be the dirtiest place I've ever walked through!!! And take everything in... You really only have two FULL days on the ship, so get to learn the ship the first night out and enjoy it after that... Castaway Cay is a true paradise!!! If you go snorkeling (which I highly recommend), go first thing... as the day goes on and more people snorkel, the sand from all the people makes the water murky. Make sure to buy an underwater camera before you get on the ship. There are some really neat fish down there! I saw an entire school, of at least 400-500 Western Altantic Blue Tangs (sorry, I work at a pet store, but they are BEAUTIFUL fish... deep blue...). It was a true sight to see. At work, they retail for around $250-$300!!! Wish I had a net!!! Anyway, it's really worth it!
The first night out can be a bit rough... You are crossing the current that runs from the west coast of Florida all the way up the Eastern Seaboard and to England.... it can get a bit choppy, but you really don't feel too much. As DisneyNut24 said, they experienced a 'tropical storm' (sorry... had to put it in quotes... don't take it wrong, but it's really to early for a TRUE tropical storm... that starts in June!
But don't worry... if there is a tropical storm or a hurricane, inteneraries usually change :sohappy: ) . On my second DCL cruise, we experienced a rough thunderstorm... waves picked up... wind definately picked up. If you happen to be going against the wind, go up to deck 10 by the basketball court and walk in front of the glass... that had to be the strongest wind I've ever felt!!!
But don't worry about the weather... Disney accomodates for bad weather... such as the sailaway party... On my last cruise, it started raining about 4:30
. But, guests were just directed to go to the atrium... a bit crowded, but they did improvise!
Over all... RELAX!!! It's a great trip, look over your Personal Navigators (schedules) the night before, and decide what you want to do! The stewards leave them in the room for you. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at
