Does it get nippy at night?
Will we need more than a light sweater for dinner or the deck?
Does anyone have any other words of Cruise Wisdom to share? :lookaroun
Did I mention......
I can't WAIT!!!!
:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

It des get cool to cold on deck at nigh, depending where you are. Breezes off the ocean are cool, as well the ships s moving quickly through the water. If the dinner area is in the middle of the ship, as they usualy are, it is surrounded by glass or wall portions so it is not that cold...... but if the area is in the forward of the ship or the aft, it will be cold. So, I say bring it, and shed it if need be.

What ship r u going on, cruises are fun!

Hi! You are so lucky to be going on the cruise. We went when the magic was doing the 3 day trip. Here is my advice. For the boat: If you want to sign up for any side trips do it fast and early. They sell out so quickly. We stayed on board as my one DS wanted to go to some deck party with goofy. I did get a view of the glass bottomed boat. It looked so unsafe and totally overcrowded. So we were sure glad we passed on that one. Also I don't know if this is still their rule, but only drinks during meals are covered in the price. With 3 thirsty kids I bought koolaid and made a couple big pitchers in the room. Keep everyone nice and happy and quiet. Also the water in the adult pool was freezing cold. We really did not enjoy it. Also make sure your daughter participates in the kids club activities. We couldn't get our kids out of there. It was awesome, Well themed and supervised. They even gave us a beeper, gave the kids i.d. bracelets etc.
For the beach: It was extra to rent snorkel gear etc. We rented two floats and shared them. The sun is really hot so get lots, and lots of waterproof sunscreen, We always use the coppertone water babies stuff. Like at least 30 spf plus. Also they have shark nets up in the water and big warning signs like you could get sea lice, etc. Well let me tell you we all kept our water shoes on the whole time in the water and I am glad we did as my DH found a huge sea urchin. Hate to think if he actually would have stepped on it. We even missed the barbeque lunch because the kids just refused to get out of the water and we were on the last little shuttle back to the boat. Our servers were excellent and were amazed our kids wanted their pictures taken with them. I think we were one of the only familys who did that. Our one server was from Kenya and the other from Spain I believe. Awesome people. All the entertainment is true Disney Magic. Our only problem was we thought the cruise was too short. Just bring lots of extra money for tips for servers, room attendants, if you go off the boat etc.

I have never been on a cruise and I am thinking about going on one. I was wondering what exactly is included in the price? I was told that they are all-inclusive, is this true? Thanks for your help.

In the morning when you awake and look at your daily itinerary decide quickly what to do. There's always two things to do! Do everything, see everything, and eat everything! If you don't you'll regret it later! Make reservations for Palo the moment you step onboard. That sucker books up quick and out of two cruises we missed it once. Ride the segway, its like ten bucks. Play bingo, the jackpot gets up there. And enjoy Castaway Cay. Very relaxing! Most of all, enjoy! And come home with a little souvenir!!!

We just got back Sunday from our 4 day land 3 day cruise (on the Disney Wonder). It was WONDERFUL!!!

We did see the segway, but did not know you could try it out. We didn't have enough time to go to the sports deck, but tried to do a lot. I am planning on posting a trip report, but am just now getting unburied here at work and trying to find clean laundry at home as well. But here is a couple of hints.

Softdrinks are included in the restaurants at dinner, but at lunch you must purchase them OR go to Deck 9 by the Mickey pool there is a FREE Drink station that serves lemonade, juice, water and coffee. We did not purchase a mug on the ship, we purchased one at the hotel, (they did honor it on the ship) However they will only honor it at Beach Blanket Buffett or the bar on the island, so if you are not around there not very convienent (especially on Castaway Cay).

It does get cool on deck after dark. Definately use the kids club, our kids were hesitant going in, but did not want to leave once they got in there. Even on Castaway Cay they had a blast and we relaxed with two for one Bahama Mamas!! Take plenty of sunscreen and apply every hour. We got burnt and we put it on at least twice and should have done it more.

We stayed on ship when we were at Nassau, and had a blast! The kids (ages 4,5(had a birthday in Disney), 7 and 8) played in the Mickey and Goofy pool, afterwards put them in kids club and had a couples massage booked (absolutely worth it!) The other couple we were traveling with did the same (their kids are two of the ones listed above). After seeing the water craft at Nassau the last time we did this (3years ago), we are very glad we stayed on board! Plus the ship is not very crowded until 3pm or so, when everyone else is trickling back on board.

If you like taking pictures, bring plenty of money for the pictures taken by the ship photographers and park photographers. We spent aprox $150 on 10 6x8's and 2 8x10's, plus a couple of 5x7's in the parks. We took pictures of our servers as well. One was from Hungary and the other from Phillippines. Our head server had a wonderful accent from Scotland.

Now you have all heard the Nor-walk virus scares, and we did have an isolated case of the stomach flu (which I think was brought on by sea sickness). Our first night (thursday the 27th) there was a tropical storm and the seas were very rough. I had to go lay down after the start of dinner, food was just not appealing. The other family and mine came back to the staterooms after dinner and got me for the show. I was feeling better after laying down for about an hour, however my husband started to feel sick. Then he had had fried veal for dinner (fried foods don't usually do well with him, if you know what I mean) anyway, but he went to the show but left with an upset stomach and ended up tossing his cookies. He continued with it once more in the middle of the night. He went to the health center and they islolated him for 24 hours. We were told we could get some money back if we had the traveler's insurance. We have not looked into that yet. The kids and I and the other family did the pools and everything that I mentioned above without the husband. Bummer for him, but I was not going to be his nursemaid when I was enjoying Disney. The health center and guest relations were great, they gave him free soft drinks in the room and checked on him two or three times. He felt 100% better the next morning and was released from isolation. This was not a great thing to happen, but in true Disney fashion they still took care of everything and we wished it had not happened but it did not ruin our trip. Since being home both myself and DS 5 have gotten sick as well, but for just the 24 hours. I actually felt puney on the airplane home (not fun). Take the anti bacterial hand sanitizer and use it each time before you eat, make sure you wash hands after you get out of pool and again before you eat. We did this, I am not sure how much it helped after seeing the results, but it can't hurt!

Spring break was crowded in the parks, however when we arrived on March 23, it was raining. What a bummer way to start out the trip, BUT it cleared out MGM and we walked right on everything, plus got a seating a Sci Fi Diner with only a 15- 20 minute wait. We went to MK on Monday and with using fast passes wisely, were able to ride everything on our must see list by 6 PM. (This list included everything major but Space Mtn, only I wanted to do it). The longest wait we had was about half an hour for Tomorrowland speedway. Iwill do a further trip report when I have more time.

Would we do it again, not during Spring Break. We were too rushed. Feb 2000 land/cruise was much more relaxing. We are planning on going back and staying on property for a week and then maybe going back and doing a four day or seven day cruise again later. We loved both so much we just wanted more time with each!

Have fun on your cruise!!! I think I saw that you are going on a three night? If so, don't waste your time in Nassau, unless you want to see Atlantis... Nassau has got to be the dirtiest place I've ever walked through!!! And take everything in... You really only have two FULL days on the ship, so get to learn the ship the first night out and enjoy it after that... Castaway Cay is a true paradise!!! If you go snorkeling (which I highly recommend), go first thing... as the day goes on and more people snorkel, the sand from all the people makes the water murky. Make sure to buy an underwater camera before you get on the ship. There are some really neat fish down there! I saw an entire school, of at least 400-500 Western Altantic Blue Tangs (sorry, I work at a pet store, but they are BEAUTIFUL fish... deep blue...). It was a true sight to see. At work, they retail for around $250-$300!!! Wish I had a net!!! Anyway, it's really worth it!

The first night out can be a bit rough... You are crossing the current that runs from the west coast of Florida all the way up the Eastern Seaboard and to England.... it can get a bit choppy, but you really don't feel too much. As DisneyNut24 said, they experienced a 'tropical storm' (sorry... had to put it in quotes... don't take it wrong, but it's really to early for a TRUE tropical storm... that starts in June! But don't worry... if there is a tropical storm or a hurricane, inteneraries usually change :sohappy: ) . On my second DCL cruise, we experienced a rough thunderstorm... waves picked up... wind definately picked up. If you happen to be going against the wind, go up to deck 10 by the basketball court and walk in front of the glass... that had to be the strongest wind I've ever felt!!!

But don't worry about the weather... Disney accomodates for bad weather... such as the sailaway party... On my last cruise, it started raining about 4:30 :( . But, guests were just directed to go to the atrium... a bit crowded, but they did improvise!

Over all... RELAX!!! It's a great trip, look over your Personal Navigators (schedules) the night before, and decide what you want to do! The stewards leave them in the room for you. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at TaborDude@comcast.net.

I could not have said it any better. I have been on the Wonder twice and it was Wonderful. There is too much to see and do. We are going to go on the Magic sometime in the future, but right now I am moving to a new house so I have to save, save, save.
