Which do you perfer: El Rio or Maelstrom

I agree each ride has it's own charm and is unique. In Maelstrom, I love the Viking scene where they are preparing to go to sea and also the plunge into the North Sea. And what a cute village at the unload area! However, El Rio happens to be one of our favorites. It recalls If You Had Wings...

Help me save the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire

Unfortunately, when an attraction is tied to popular culture such as a TV show, it seems destined to a limited life. It was fun though while it lasted. Just a thought. In Football, it's a penalty to pile on after a tackle.

A Few More Details About The Laugh Floor

I love the TTA. And I do remember a time when you had to wait a bit to ride. Of course this was in the early 70's. Then the ambiance of Tomorrowland could be considered the queue theming.

It's raining in NJ...if I was in DISNEY, I'd be......

We would have finished our lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern, then caught Hall of Presidents before hitting our beloved Haunted Mansion, making sure we rub the heads of the bats on the posts as we approach the loading platform.:lookaroun This is torture! I can't wait! :sohappy:

    Help solve a family fight!!

When I was a kid back in the early 70's our stays were 1-2 days. Our Honeymoon was 5 nights with only Magic Kingdom, River Country, Discovery Island and Lake Buena Vista in existence. Since we have been hitting it pretty regular our shortest has been 4 days and the longest 15 days. It's true...

    STOLPort resort rumor

But the reason it was closed I think had more to do with changes in Florida's health regulations regarding water parks (they were using bay lake water). River Country it seemed, remained very popular with guests. It filled to capacity very early on many days as it wasn't very large, but the...

    What Happened To "Disney Studios"

Nostalgic and a key element to one of our favorite attractions, The Great Movie Ride. What are the ramifications if the MGM relationship ends?

    Glad I canceled POR

I'm glad that the folks at Disney shined again, as they have so many times. I'm very sorry for your loss. May the Lord strengthen and comfort you and your family during this difficult time.

    MK Testing New Entry Scans

Just don't be suprised if you stick your head out of your door one day and find that your country is gone. Civil liberties mean nothing if the guardian and provider of those liberties ceases to exist. While you are right that 100% safety is impossible, we can make significant strides to...

    MK Testing New Entry Scans

You may have been confused by design. Sadly, it appears to me that many issues are misrepresented by the media in order to sway public opinion. Or at a minimum personal beliefs surface through their "objective" reporting. That's why we always have a responsibility to educate ourselves on issues...

    How long in DW

Ditto. The longer visits allow for a more relaxing vacation. WDW is awesome when you can slow the pace a little and soak up the details. We have been staying about 10 days per visit for the last several years. We had a 15 day visit one year. Our original plans called for 11 days at WDW and 4...

    Drowning at Disney Resort Pool

As I recall only the main pools are guarded at moderate resorts. Or as you mentioned, it could have been after hours. At AKL the guards announce at 10:00 pm that they are going off duty and the pool will be unguarded. But it's still open, albeit with no water slide. Bottom line is that it's...

    Spending $$$$$$$

Setting aside the dining plan for a moment, we have been visiting WDW for several years as 5 adults (3 Adults and 2 daughters who qualify as adults). We generally skip breakfast or munch cookies etc. in the room in the morning while we prepare to go to the parks. We usually have 2 meals at sit...
