    Church Weddings or Not

We never planned for a church wedding, much to my parents' disappointment. My husband and I don't agree on religion, and he couldn't marry in a Catholic church (and I wouldn't marry in *his* church) so we had a civil ceremony. As some of you know, his deployment forced our hand and I married...

    Everybody cheer up spooky!

Oh, Spooky! I'm so sorry. When we lost my last dog, I cried for a week (until we got a new dog!). He was lucky to have you for so long at a time when no one else wanted him. Most people won't adopt older dogs because they want puppies that will be with them for many years. What a lucky dog, and...

    Date?

Steve, I know this is silly, but.... I am one of those people who doesn't know what the date is. Ever. I award bonus points to kids who change the date on the board for me because the administration wants it there, and apparently they feel better if it's right. Now with this new system, it...

    Quality Continues to Drop

Just a side note: Steve (Mr. WDWMagic) has asked that we only post the links. Technically, even with attribution, you can't copy over the wire story here because Steve doesn't pay for Reuters service. He has gotten complaints in the past, which could result in fines for him. :)

    questions about tinkerbells flight...

Thanks, Rob. He's just kidding, right? It's not a person on a wire...is it? Oh, my Sunday is ruined! PS Tramp, thanks for the laugh! *writes in "inclemental" in American Heritage* :)

    Special Needs Assistance

Mom, my parents said when they rented scooters the last trip (both had dr's notes with them--wheelchairs may have worked, except if both were sitting in wheelchairs, who was pushing?). They said that WDW employees did a fabulous job of not making them feel awkward since neither of them needs...

    Poetry

Can you tell it's Metaphysical Poetry week? :) (My students are not amused.... but they're starting to get the hang of this...) VALEDICTION FORBIDDING MOURNING. by John Donne AS virtuous men pass mildly away, And whisper to their souls to go, Whilst some of their sad...

    Poetry

To his Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell Had we but world enough, and time, This coyness, lady, were no crime. We would sit down and think which way To walk, and pass our long love's day; Thou by the Indian Ganges' side Shouldst rubies find; I by the tide Of Humber would complain. I...

    Grey hair!

I have a few, too, Maria, since we are the same age. My husband REFUSES to pull them out so I have to do it myself--which usually results in greater hair loss since I have bad luck at pulling out the right one the first time. My hair is really dark, so *I* notice the sparklies in the back. None...

    Spirit Airlines?

We fly Spirit out of Atlantic city a lot (my parents do it a few times a year), and it's very convenient and affordable.

    Courtyard by Marriott at WDW

I don't know how many people you need to accommodate, but you can rent a car for about $125 a week from Dollar, and they have a service desk right there at the Courtyard. Depending on the length of your stay, it would still be cheaper than All Stars. I think the hotel has nicer accommodations...

What happens when the park is full?

A cast member told me that Disney tries very hard to let AP holders in on a priority basis, and often they will close the park to guests coming through the parking lot without an AP if they are estimating a high number of AP and resort guests. They closed Epcot on New Year's Eve 1999 very early...

    The Disney Stores and WDW

Our local Disney Store is carrying adult ts and sweatshirts again... I was there Wednesday, and they said the demand was so high they brought those back....

    Happy Bday Mighty one :)

Oh, thanks so much everyone! :) And what thoughtful gifts you all came up with. I am touched. :) (and while I did have plenty of snow crab legs at Red Lobster, there was no birthday cake this year... so thanks for thinking of that! :) ) I had a great day. Thanks for making it even more...

    Customer dissatisfication from Target...

Just a word as a former EB manager... Stores like EB "gut" the video games. Take out the game, shrink wrap the empty box to deter theft, and put the "guts" to the game in a bin in the back room. If someone wants the last one, you grab the box off the shelf, go into the back, and reshrinkwrap...

    Happy Bday Mighty one :)

:o Aww, thanks, everyone. :) Erika, I ordered the birthday gift but I can't unwrap it for almost another week! ;) But I get to go to WDW in 11 days for my honeymoon! Woohoo!
