Boardwalk. This was once our favorite.

I remember a large Carousel made of gingerbread in the lobby during the holidays, I'm sure I have pictures somewhere ??

Private dining on balcony at Grand Floridian

I am pretty sure back then the food served on the balcony was coming from Citrico's kitchen (which I think was Flagler's back then). So when we got there we had a menu made just for us with several choices (appetizer choice, entree choice, dessert choice) The table was beautifully set up with...

    Annual Passholder and Valet Parking

I am mistaken, I was mixing up the free parking at the theme parks with parking at hotels. I always thought this was included, sorry my bad,

    Annual Passholder and Valet Parking

Quick question, I have an Annual Pass. If I am staying at a WDW Resort hotel, do I have to pay for valet parking throughout my stay??? I thought free valet parking was a part of the pass.

    Hurricane Matthew

We were at the WL for Wilma in 2005. We were at the MNSSHP the night before in the pouring rain and wind and overnight the storm blew through. By midday the next day Epcot was open, and then each other park later on as they cleared them.

Tropical Depression Nine impact to Walt Disney World

We were at the Wilderness Lodge too during Wilma. We were supposed to drive home to NY and decided to wait a few more days for the storm to pass so they extended our stay three nights and when we went to check out they were NO CHARGE !!! What a treat !! The hotel also ran lots of Disney...

Tropical Depression Nine impact to Walt Disney World

We had tickets the night Hurricane Wilma was coming through and it was pouring during the whole party and it was open for business, fireworks and all. It was okay though, we were soaking wet but the park was very empty. A lot of people didn't show up, so rides had zero wait times.

    Is WDW Security Serious?

This past May I was going through the back entrance to Epcot and everyone in my party was pulled over for screening. My brother-in-law, a fisherman/hunter type had a knife in his pocket. He always carries a knife, just the way he is. He took it out and placed it in the bin with everything...

Well I guess I will never stay in a Polynesian Bungalow....

So just for kicks and giggles I priced a 2 week stay in a Polynesian bungalow. I was absolutely floored at the price......room only.....$37,293.75. :greedy: :greedy: :greedy: :greedy: :greedy:

    Surprising my wife

Book a scavenger hunt through Gifts of a Lifetime. My husband did this for our 10th Anniversary and it was so much fun. The hunt ended at the Grand Floridian where he had a private dinner on the balcony planned. They can cater it to any theme or budget and in any park. They are awesome and I...

Getting worried - Yacht versus Beach Club

We stayed at the YC in October and it was awesome. It is in no way run-down and it is a beautiful hotel. It is our favorite and we have stayed at almost all of them.

What's the best alcoholic beverage in the parks?

The Dawa Bar in the Animal Kingdom makes a killer Sugar Cane Mojito.

    David's Vacation Rentals

Thank you, lots of great information. Looks like a great alternative, except the pay up front, no cancellation thing is concerning. Anything can happen and I'd hate to lose everything. How much does insurance cost in this instance and where would you get it from ?

    BC v. YC

I have stayed twice at the Beach Club and three times at the Yacht Club. I loved the Beach Club, it is beautifully decorated and has a great vibe, but at night I found it much more noisy. The Yacht Club is a little further walk from Epcot but all in all it was way quieter. If you are a light...
