Start Dieting for WDW trip PART II

I am going to join you as well. My trip is 148 days out so I too feel I have enough time to drop a good amount. Hey if I can get one pound off a week, that will be around 20 pounds less to carry around with me :) With it starting to get warmer out as the days go by it will be easier to get out...

    Best character dining location

O'Hana's: you get the modern characters, Lilo and Stich, mixed in with the classics like Mickey. I also love 1900 Park Fare. I feel the characters there spend a good amount of time with the guests and nothing beats Pooh bear. Well...at least for me

    Who going in September ?

I'll be there 09-03 to 09-09, staying at the Poly, but now am considering waiting a week or so and be there for when Haunted reopens. I didn't realize you can make meal reservations this far in advance until I saw everyone mentioning where they were eating. I can't wait to plan, but figured I...

Latest you been in a Park

We stayed in the park till 2:00AM and I have to agree with WDWFigment, the best is when they let you do consecutive rides without deboarding. We also got to do that on Splash. It was great :) That and running in and out of Space Mountain over and over again.

    Grand Fiesta

I am 30 and I have no idea who they are. I mean I know Donald, but I don't know who these other birds are :o I will give the ride a try though. I have to admit, I liked the corny aspect of Rio and the fact that there were never lines (hard to find at the World you know).

    Poly vs Contemporary

To me there is nothing like the Poly! No other place has such a relaxing atmosphere and such a great theme. The Contemporary is nice, but that's about it for me. It's just "nice". The Poly makes you feel like you are in a Hawaiian resort...only without the jet lag :) Everyone there has such a...

Honeymoon-Worth it to upgrade to a Deluxe Resort?

I say go for the Poly. You won't regret it and if you are going in September you can get a great rate compared to other times of the year. There is no place more romantic at DisneyWorld! You'll feel like you are in Hawaii on your honeymoon. The monorail stop is a definite plus. Plus they redid...

Floridians: Go see DL, Boycott WDW

WDW all the way...well for me at least:) Not sure if I am the only one since I did not read all the other posts, but after going to WDW for years, my hubby and I were in LA for a day and went to DL for the first time. Major and I mean major disappointment. Yeah Space Mountain was pretty cool...

Photos of the Poly's renovated Capt. Cook's?

allearsnet.com has a lot. Look under Deluxe Resorts-Poly-Photo Gallery. I was looking at them the other day. It looks real nice :)

    i love to eat

We have a tradition by now. First day we get there is always in the early afternoon so we have lunch at Kona Cafe (I always get salad and yummy Kona chowder). And dinner is always at Jiko's. We love starting our vacation off with a bang by going to a yummy dinner right off the bat :)

    help chosing resort

I am a big fan of the Poly so I would have to vote for it. Kids always seem to have such a great time at the volcano pool! The slide is a big hit and they have Seven Seas Lagoon right there so they can play in the sand. Plus, it's nice having O'Hana's at your front door. They can eat with Lilo...

    1st Day Traditions

We never go to the park the first day. I almost have to "settle in" to the vacation. The first day I feel like I am not really there, like it's a dream. We get the early flight in and arrive at the Poly and check in. Then we unpack real quick and head to the lobby and look around the grounds to...

    Disneyland possibility- Help

Thanks! Wow thanks for the quick responses and also about the info regarding the ticket event being at Cali Adventure and not Disneyland! These are the directions that we got off of Yahoo: Get onto I-105 E. Continue for 16.7 miles, then take the I-605 N/I-605 S exit. Merge onto I-605 N...

    Disneyland possibility- Help

I am planning to be in LA October 29th. I have never been to Disneyland and I thought it would be nice to go there in the late afternoon/evening after my flight gets in. Questions: 1.) I noticed on Yahoo Maps that from LAX, Disneyland is 30 minutes away. Even though it is a Sunday, I hear...

    Are you a Deluxe Snob?

We always stay at the Poly mainly because it means so much to us. My fiancee's family stayed there religiously when they were children (he even learned to walk there on the beach of Seven Seas Lagoon!) and then he introduced it to me years ago. And that is where we were staying when I got...

    What's your first Disney memory?

My first Disney memory was when I was 9, my first trip there, and meeting Eeyore who I loved. He gave me kiss on the head and patted me on the head and then when he turned around I decided I would pull his tail. At that moment my mom takes a picture of me. There I am with my pink balloon shaped...

How do you get from Disney Resorts to Disney Parks?

We do a combo of car and monorail. We always rent a car and use that to get to MGM and AK and to the different hotels at night for dinner. Then for MK and Epcot or for going to the Contemporary or GF, we use the monorail at the TTC and the resort monorail. We never take the buses because we...

    Who hates to leave?

My "mourning" so to speak starts 2-3 days before we leave :( I have to remind myself not to think about it and say to myself "I'm still here. Living the moment. Don't think about leaving...". But then I look around and go on some rides and get over it. I think that is why I try not to pack my...

Favorite Disney Eating, What Restaurant, What Meal? Pick One Of Each!

Breakfast: 1900 Park Fare (great selection and I love having a rice krispie treat for breakfast!) Lunch: Kona Cafe (that chowder is the best) Dinner: Tie between the California Grill- when I went in the fall they had the best butternut squash ravioli I have EVER eaten, but since that menu...
