    AP...or not to AP?

Not sure if still available, but when we had our AP last year we were able to get the Disney Dining Experience card. This let us get 20% off at Disney restaurants. I know it is not Free Dining, but in case it is not available with an AP, this is something worth looking into. Also, we've...

The Empress Room vs Victoria & Albert's

Thanks for letting me know. Even the chef's table seems cool, I am happy that we are not doing that since I am a picky eater and need choices.

The Empress Room vs Victoria & Albert's

Quote: When my wife and I went to V&A a couple of years ago, I couldn't believe I recognized one of the servers from the Empress Room and spoke with him for awhile... That was really interesting. On our next visit, we want to try the chef's table. What is the difference between the regular...

    Dinning suggestions (help)

We always hit Jiko's. I have never looked at their children's menu but it may be one of those places a 6 year old might find too exotic. It all depends how adventurous they are. I do agree with others that O'Hana's is a must. That is something the whole family can enjoy. Not sure if it is on...

    Which deluxe would you choose?

Definitely the Polynesian. Kids will love it. It has a great pool with the volcano slide and you can see the fireworks and Electrical Water Pagaent at night from the beach. Also, lots of cute tikis around that kids will get a kick out of.

    Surfing in TL

I guess it is all in the wording. What I meant by maximum is you cannot ask for 200 waves. 100 waves in the maximum they will let you do during the time allowed. Yes you cannot ask for only 1 or 50 waves, but you can stop before the 100 if you choose to and only end up doing 80 if for some...

    Surfing in TL

The last time my husband surfed TL I purchased it for him and it was $1100 (both times). There is a 100 wave maximum. The waves can be configuered to right, left or center (center being only for 2 or more people. My husband did the surfing event all by himself both times). He did it the first...

Please tell me all about the Polynesian!

I LOVE, LOVE the Poly. Every time we go to WDW we stay there. I love the atmosphere and the Aloha from the CMs whenever you walk by. You can really get wrapped up in it all and feel like you are in Hawaii. I love the proximity to MK and the TTC right there to whisk you away to Epcot. O'Hana's is...

My Trip Isn't Till Oct. Ugghhh!!!!! Help!

We ALWAYS do character breakfasts. We are going Sept 8-16 (finally dropped under 100 days but the wait is killing me too!!). We love the character breakfast at GF and Crystal Palace since I love Pooh Bear. I am 30 and my husband, who also loves these breakfasts, is 32. We have no kids yet but...

    MNSSHP and Costumes

My husband and I went a few years ago. Mine was not Disney related but it sure was cheap and easy to pack. I wore a while t-shirt and white shorts and then bought a white angel headband with a halo from Walgreens, even came with an angel-type wand. Then I went to the fabric store and bought some...

    Polynesian vs. Contemporary

I would vote for Poly. Now I have only stayed at the Poly but go to and through the Contemporary every day I am in Disney so even though I am familiar with the Contemporary, it is from an outsider's perspective. Contemporary is nice and all but in my opinion and seeing it through children's...

    Is 7 Days Too Long?

I think it all depends on whether or not your party enjoys the "non-park" activities that Disney has to offer. For me and my husband that is not enough time. We were originally scheduled to do our upcoming trip in September for 7 days and then up'd it to 9 when we realized we wanted to do a lot...

Interesting WDW item in your home or office

Have a trivet that says Polynesian Village with a painting of a longhouse. A tiki glass that says the same from the 70s. A menu from the Poly's Coral Isle Cafe from back in the day. 3 drawings done by an artist that draws scenery from the Poly. Poly pajamas that I love to wear in the summer...

Does Eating At A Disney Resort Count?

I think there is a difference between "being" at Disney and "vacationing" at Disney. Although I only think "vacationing" at Disney is a trip, whether it is staying for a day because you are a local or staying 12 days. At the same time, I think it is how you word your answer: "Yes I have eaten at...

    Doing ALL of WDW?

We sure haven't done it all and you know, I am fine with that. I only like staying in one hotel and I would never eat at all the restaurants because some menus just don't appeal to me. Plus, there is something to be said about looking forward to doing a ride or activity you have never been able...

    September TRIPS:

We'll be at the Poly from the 8th to the 16th! I guess that is a popular week. I have never gone this late into September (usually go for Labor Day). Hopefully the parks won't be too filled. I am making my dinner ressies today. This will make the trip more real especially since I spent a lot of...

Trying to get friends to agree to come to Disney. Help!!

I'd hate to vote against Disney but considering it is three guys for three days I would vote for my Sweet Home Chicago. Baseball (preferably Cubs), lots of great bars around Wrigley Field and great weather. You can also go to some great restaurants downtown at night. It is a great place for a...

What in Disney World gives you that infamous "Disney feeling"

-Smell of the Poly lobby when you check in -The sound of the horn of the boat in 7 Seas taking guests back and forth to the park from the hotel -The whole resort monorail spiel talking about each hotel. -Seeing the kids walk around with the characters during the breakfast parade at O'Hana's...

    The Park Is Too Empty???

Right after Hurricane Frances MK was so empty. I liked getting on the rides quickly but it was almost eerie in the morning. It almost felt like we were trespassing. We were just so tired of being cooped up at the hotel for close to 2 days that we took MK however we could get it! This also...

how many more days for you?

144 for the hubby and I!!! That seems like a long time but I am happy since originally we weren't coming down this year. Then we decided we were and a 4 day long weekend turned into 9 days :) I just feel at this point that it will never come. I already have our parks and meals planned out. Now...
