Any DVC'ers out there think we should have more perks?

My family have been members since '95 and we got the free park passes. It was thru '99 BUT they didn't include Animal Kingdom (in the same way that current tickets won't include entrance to any parks built after 5/1/98). As a party of 4 (that usually stayed in a 1 bed) we would only get 2...

What ever happened to the centerpiece on epcots entrance fountain

Is there someone that could translate that for me because after staring at it for 10 mins I still don't understand what's been said.

    D23 Merchandise

Yeah...the only D23 related things I've seen in the parks was the Magazine and loads of ads on the buses and stuff

    Insects

If you go near water (lakes mostly) particularly at night then you'll probably find that you're walking away with a bite or two but nothing hazardous to your health.

    Doubt

Head towards the parks the same way as usual. When you get to the entrance (where you'd usually pay for parking) let them know you want to drop guests off and ask them where to go. They usually to tell you to follow a blue line on the ground or something like that. Then your husband will be able...

    Tipping the ME Driver

If you're using the tags then your bags won't be on the same bus as you and you do not need to tip the driver. They will deliver the bags to your room and you don't need to worry about it at all. On the way back: If a bellhop helps you with your bags then you'll probably want to tip them (I...

    Electric carts.

If you're staying at a Disney resort then contact them as I read somewhere that they can arrange an ECV rental for you so that you can use them in your resort and not just the parks (worth giving them a ring). A couple of weeks ago my mum did something to a disc in her spine which meant that...

Need Help, What DVC To Stay At?

Kidani or baylake. I just stayed at Kidani and we didn't find that it was too remote at all. It's got some great facilities and kids will love the pool area. However, if I didn't have a savannah view, I personally wouldn't want to stay there, because that's what really makes the place stand...

    Getting around

Just depends on personal preference really. Usually bus trips take a max of 15 mins or so but you have to account for the time you'll spend waiting for the bus (officially a max of 20 mins). The advantage is that they often drop you closer to the parks than you'd be if you drove and no-one has...

From Pop Century to Saratoga or Old Key West?

SS does have a decent quick service which OKW doesn't have. In the case of the OP it sounds like you are best sticking with POP. IMO the "villa-type only" resorts (OKW,SS,etc) although considered deluxe aren't in the same league as the deluxe hotels such as Contemporary, Polynesian, etc...

What's the best tour to go on?

I've done: - the Segway tour at Epcot which was great fun. i'd always wanted to go on a segway and got to see a little more of World Showcase than I usually do. -Keys to the Kingdom. This was my favorite tour. We rode Jungle Cruise and Pirates (HM was in refurb), had lunch at Columbia...

What Stage Show do you miss the most?

Mickey Mouse Club (It's an age thing I guess)... Hunchback and Pocahontas. The hunchback puppets during The Bells of Notre Dame were fab.

    Ride and Show Photo Policies

Several times during my last trip we heard CMs telling guests off for using flash photography over the tannoy. really annoyed me because it really ruins the whole experience.

    Extra Magic Hours question

Personally, I find it more constructive to get up early (not necessarily for morning EMH) and be at the parks for opening than to use evening EMH. I find that I get a LOT more done in a fraction of the time.

    Fantasmic Showing & Package question

I don't know if things have changed recently but the only time I've ever had to "Stand in line" for Fantasmic is basically when I've seen the second show of the night while everyone exits the theatre and stuff. For the first show of the night I find that I spend far less time standing up and...

    Sanaa

That's funny cos my family walked in with no ressies and the place was empty. The food was interesting...some good some bad. We all enjoyed the bread selection (particularly with coriander chutney and cucumber raita), hated the samosas. I had the beef stew (i think it's listed as beef ribs or...

    OKW or SSR?

Not an overstatement. It's been the case at OKW for most of the time we've been members there (since '95, got worse when they expanded the resort) and it was bad both times that I stayed at SSR (at different times of year). In fact the CMs knew how bad it was because they asked us how long we...

    OKW or SSR?

Personally I'd say neither. I've had problems with both properties bus transportation. Never had any with other DVC resorts. Every bus stops at about 4-5 stops within the resort so you're lucky if you get on the bus let alone if one turns up. The buildings near OKW hospitality are about #14...
