Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom Walkway

Interesting that the the screenshot from the "Reedy Creek Address Finder" web site appears to be centered on the area west of Floridian Way and south of Maple road. Not exactly where I would expect the path to go.

    News Astro Orbiter Problems?

I have vivid memories of riding the AO as a child with my brother. We went all the way up and we couldn't get it to come back down. It was scary in a fun sort of way. Years later riding it as an adult I realized that to go down you push the lever forward and I wondered if our arms were simply...

Aunt Polly's opening for July 4 week at the Magic Kingdom

Aunt Polly's is my favorite place in Magic Kingdom to eat...the picnic lunch we brought into the park. So I don't really care if it's open as long as they don't tear it down.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

I think one time we got an entire monorail to itself. It was after MK closing and we did a joyride from TTC to Epcot and back. The CM told us if we got off at Epcot we might not get another train that night.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

Your description sounds exactly like something I have seen a couple of times when crews were running telecom cable along roads. I think the spinny thing spiral wraps a small steel wire around the support cable and the communication cable to bind them together.

    STOLPort Expansion

I thought I had remembered this diagram here showing a new auto plaza on the old speedway land. But after another look I see that it does not. Thanks for setting me straight.

    STOLPort Expansion

Sorry - I wasn't specific. I understood they were for construction but wasn't sure how close trailers need to be (or typically are) to the project they serve - hence the question was supposed to mean "What [construction projects] do the current trailers support?" So, in your opinion they could...

    STOLPort Expansion

What do the current trailers support? Is this close enough to Ft. Wilderness that it would serve the new DVC construction there? Or would it be related to construction at the TTC (There is at least a new toll booth coming, right)?

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

@Lift Blog I expect that (presumably numbered) cabins eventually get our of order on the line, so I wondered, do gondolas ever use automated technology like bar codes or RFID to identify and/or track a cabin's position for maintenance, etc?

News Disney to launch new Vacation Planning site to help guests with date-based tickets

I am US based and on our last trip we were in town for 14 days with 7 day park passes from a discounter. I had planned to add days but after I bought them Disney added the expiration date on unused passes. Because of that change, adding day 8 would have cost about the same as a one day ticket...

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

No, but you said you were. I thought I took your statement about the relative cost, interpolated it to the significantly longer path of the gondolas, and found that "already" (as in, without adding even a second station to the WEDway) the WEDway figure came out higher. I must not have...

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

I'll assume that the 1/5 figure above is inflation adjusted, but not path length adjusted as well. So, let's make that inflation-adjusted cost and take rope length as an approximation of path length: So the gondolas are 6.6 times as long as the only comparable WEDway. Already the gondolas...

    News Permits 2018

I've concluded that Google's pin is wrong by a lot. The only place you have Orange County (because the N.O.C. was file there), Lake Buena Vista (ZIP code 32830) and Osceola Parkway all at the same place is a narrow strip of land from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Art Of Animation. Does this look...

Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I believe Pandora soft opened to the general public one day before the official opening. We were in town for two weeks with 7 day park tickets. I purposely put our AK day very near the end of our trip to try to catch a soft opening, but the soft opening for the general public was THE DAY AFTER...

News WDW Resorts to add fees for parking

One (very cold) day at AK we were told we were the lucky family of the day and got priority parking right next to the turnstiles. But they still charged us the regular parking fee (this was before you could pay extra for priority parking). I would have rather gotten your deal...

    Magic Kingdom August 21, 2018

There is a house in my neighborhood that, I believe, still has scarecrows and straw bales decorating it. Let's just celebrate all year!
