News New Play Pavilion to replace Epcot's Wonders of Life

It could easily be that their source's desire is shielding the reality. This isn't their first speculation piece about Play! being canceled. Agree that a simple push down the project list makes sense for many reasons. It will not take a lot of money to get the building ready to open at this...

News Disney Park Pass System announced for Walt Disney World theme park reservations

I'm with Disney on this one. If you haven't figured out a system that's been in place for over two years, that's on you at this point. The Incredi-Pass has more reservations than any other pass. If you can't get one for a date that you drastically care about, that's on you. Plan ahead, it's...

Price Hikes Galore! (Genie+ variable pricing, ILL, refillable mugs, SWGE lightsaber and droids)

I have a feeling that Genie+ will rarely be below $20 and probably hit $30 by the holidays.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

Hope people have a great day tomorrow! All four parks open plus Disney Springs should make for a great day. Sunny, yet cooler temperatures tomorrow as well! Enjoy! Road into our neighborhood is two feet deep, so we probably won't head anywhere until Saturday. Won't chance it, even if...

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

They might, they might not. They would know. It's a weekday in September, so it's not a peak day. There's also a high likelihood that not everyone with a reservation made it to Florida. I'm sure they'll be taking a lot of things into account. Like I said, we'll see what they decide soon...

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

The reservation system was not in place in the past. They could possibly, and that's the emphasis, do things differently this time. They can keep it resort only or just honor people that had existing reservations. There's a lot of ways they can go about it. We'll find out very soon.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

Controlling access is definitely going to be key to reopening. A lot of people are out from work and school tomorrow, so they will no doubt be careful who goes in. I don't expect them to just let everyone rush over in hope of a slower day.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

We made it OK, power still on and no damage. Very lucky this time, it seems. Irma did damage, so we're happy to not have any just five years later. Mortgage values are up from 2017, so filing a insurance claim would be significantly more expensive than it was then (deductible rates are...

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

Very impressed with the NOAA. They did a heck of a job calling this one early and with good accuracy. It's a hard job and they did it well.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

That's a great question, actually. I'd imagine there will be people who bought tickets to Friday's party that will not be able to make it. Hopefully they'll provide some clarity on that later today.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

Our forecast got downgraded (now showing below 30mph winds) with the new update. I'll take it. We're much more northeast compared to WDW though. Hopefully this means we'll keep our power on.

Hate it, but it's the right call. Even if it changes again for the better, it's better to play it safe. You'll hopefully have a better time when you come too.

Just saying, if I was spending the money WDW requires, I would cancel this trip too. Even if it were to be open, I don't imagine how fun it would be. Better to reschedule if you can. The newest image looks like it's already starting to touch the keys.

Still WNW, but I'm noticing that it's slowing down. Could start trekking upward.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

Orlando will see a lot of rain, forecast currently shows a couple inches. For the average person, it'll feel like we're having a couple back to back days of thunderstorms. If the current track holds, things should operate pretty normally around the city, but it's wise to keep an eye out for...

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

Also worth mentioning, it's still moving west at the moment. "11:00 AM EDT Sun Sep 25 Location: 15.2°N 79.8°W Moving: WNW at 14 mph Min pressure: 1001 mb Max sustained: 50 mph"

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

It looks like we should have a better idea of the storm's direction tomorrow morning. It looks like if it hasn't turned north much by then, it might be even more to the west. There's no good spot for this beast to hit, as it will negatively impact anyone in its path.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

The current movement is west-southwest according to the NHC. You could be right if it doesn't turn north soon. I'd say, the whole Gulf coast should be watching this. It can really end up anywhere right now.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

This is just my prediction based on the current forecast, which can change. If it's an Irma-like storm, which is on the more intense side, Tuesday could see an early closure, with Wednesday and Thursday closed, reopen on Friday. Lots of variables in that though.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

That's very true, but it's never stopped them before. Usually back open within 24 hours, if they close at all. [EDIT for clarity] I mean 24 hours after the storm has passed, and curfews lifted, not from when the parks closed.
