Will Universal's new Budget Hotel hurt Disney?

no i think it won't Disney is Disney after all, known all over the world ;) which is why everyone loves it, even more so with little kids, where as i see uni/ioa as more of an older/teen/adult market even though kids do still enjoy it

For us this time round it has to be the free Disney dollars, as it will do nicely for our world showcase drinking session during F&W festival, and as we've never caught the the Magical Express were looking forward to that this time as well judging by everyone's love for it, I'm Excited

    Universal transport

Yeah mears shuttle is 20 $ pp return so I think taxi would be better than that. Hiring a car for the day sounds good but then you have to get to the car rental place and think about parking at Uni

    Universal transport

I honestly think they see youre staying at Disney and automatically put $10 ontop of the price. Also, it was a estimate from prices I got quoted last year and they usually charge more for more people, therefore 5 people would probably be $50.

Quick question as this thread is about making reservations in September. I am from the UK & want to make dining reservations for September. Will I need to put in C/C details to book? Also is it worth booking for just the two of us?

Obviously there is the option of taxi which I dont know exactly but I would estimate at $50 each way. OR, free Disney Transportation to DTD, Lynx bus 50 to Seaworld ($2 adults), I.Ride Trolly ($1.50 adults, children under 12 FREE) up to Red stop 7 and then walk about 10 - 15 minutes to park...

When Is Too Much Too Much $$$$$$$.

I think in terms of your vacation, you will pay more than what you would do if you weren't on vacation. And then there is Disney. We always budget a lot more for days in the parks as we know we are going to be paying double. I am from the UK and a pint of beer or cider is £2.70 - £3 ($4 - 4.50)...
