Our guide on the KttK tour told the group how PotC was the only ride in WDW originally built for FL that was later copied and built in Disneyland. I tried debating this claim but he was certain he was right so I gave up.

Tasteful is the best description I can think of for the DL implementation of characters. It's not overboard and the way in which they were incorporated preserves the design integrity of the attraction IMO. I thought I would hate it but ended up enjoying that aspect of their version.

LOVED that ride. Rode it again, and again, and again. Of course you didn't need a ticket for it back in the old days...

World of Color is pretty awesome. I saw it for the first time 2 weeks ago and watching the video on YouTube does not do it justice. You really have to see it in person to appreciate how fantastic it is.

We're voting with our wallet this year and making our first trip ever to DL next month. I have to admit that many of the little things mentioned, plus many BIG ones (e.g. yeti debacle), really helped steer our decision this summer even though it's a costlier trip for us to make. I'll have to...

Besides the nostalgia factor, I suppose the Skyway did help to get from point A to point B for those too exhausted to walk. This was back in the days before there was a train station on the east side of the park so the Skyway could help cut off some walking distance if you were willing to wait.

The world was a much different place back in the early 70s. Back in the day CBJ had lines that would rival TSMM.
