Personally, I agree...I'd go for multiple rooms at a value and stay on property. If you must go offsite, when we visited that other park, we stayed at Sheraton Vistana Villages and found it to be very nice and comfortable.

Connecting rooms is a request but not guaranteed. For your situation, I'd stick with the Suite.

Aunt Polly's is on Tom Sawyer Island. I would probably grab a coffee at Starbucks and sit in the Tomorrowland Terrace. (PS I found the cappuccino in the TT to be horrendous so beware!)

Casitas. Within walking distance of the main lobby and it's also the first bus pickup stop in the mornings. When we stayed in the Cabanas it was a much much longer wait for the bus as they would fill up before reaching our stop and just bypass us.
