While in the park, I would love to grab a coffee, sit back and relax while I drink it. Somehow walking and getting bumped around does not sound enjoyable. With the Main Street hub construction is there decent seating outside the Plaza Inn? I was thinking o grabbing a Starbucks coffee on Main Street. What are the best times to do so? I assume I stay away from parade or FW times. Any suggestions are welcomed!

I believe in Magic, but not without my coffee!

I believe that seating is still available. You also look at right outside the Expo center near Tony's. As @Master Yoda said, if you don't mind a little hike there are a bunch more options available to sit and relax.

Extremely early in the morning (like rope drop or extra magic hour) would work. Other than the peak times you described the Plaza seating is usually available.

Last trip, I unexpectedly had the nicest time enjoying my cup of coffee in Disney ;) We got there are rope drop, and while my DH took our kids to Storytime with Belle, I stopped into Starbucks on Mainstreet and got us two iced coffees (can't drink hot coffee in September:(). I got to Storytime, but didn't see our stroller or them anywhere. So, I just waited outside of Belle's house on the stone wall for them (figuring they went to a M&G or IASW or something) and people-watched. 20 minutes later they showed up! Turns out, they had been in line waiting for me, but because I wasn't coming, they eventually decided to go just in without me. At first I was disappointed, but then I realized, it was kinda nice just sitting there for awhile enjoying my iced coffee by myself in the morning peacefulness of MK. Plus, I had already done Storytime, so I wasn't really missing anything. My DH was less than thrilled, though, because his "iced" coffee was now just "watered down" coffee - oops! ;):)

There's also the little "side street" spur off of Main Street, U.S.A. near Crystal Arts. It generally has a cute little bistro table or two and is away from the traffic. My family has enjoyed many a peaceful snack there.

When DD was a little over a year, we went to WDW. I was looking for a quiet place to just hold her and give her a break, with hopes she would nap. I found a place near Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square. There are 2 rocking chairs in front of a fake building....you go up a few steps. It was so relaxing! We must have sat there for 45 minutes while DD napped. Sometimes I miss things w/the hustle & bustle, but it is nice to stop & relax. :)

Thank you all for the great advice. If you ever find yourself in Carsland, DLR at Flo's 8 café the coffee and pies are great and the seating facing Radiator Springs Racers is awesome. You can take in the neon reflecting off the mountains and watch the Cars characters as they roll by. The little ones excitement is contagious! Especially when Mater comes by!

A while back, maybe 2009ish, we were at the park early one day and it was relatively quiet. I decided to grab a coffee while the other members of the group went to some rides. I ended up sitting on a bench just outside of the exit to Big Thunder to wait for the group.

It turned out to be one of the more memorable things from the trip. Certainly not exciting, but very relaxing. With the sun not quite at its peak it felt like a cozy morning sunrise. Was fun to see people coming off the ride and quite peaceful to sit next to the river looking across at TSI.
