Coronado Springs Best Section?

We have never stayed at this resort (or any Moderate) so we are really excited about upgrading from our typical Value Resorts. We will be attending a convention so it has to be Coronado that we stay at.

The resort looks HUGE and I don't know which section to request. I want a standard room that is not a bad distance from the bus stops/main lobby. Any suggestions?

Cabana's section is our choice. Close to the pool, main buildings and two bus stops. #4 and the main building are two stops that are an easy walk from Cabana's. Also nice quiet pool there as well.

I love Coronado Springs! We loved the Cabanas and the Casitas both for their theming, and their proximity to the main building. However, the furthest rooms in these sections would be more of a walk than the closest, so if you have no preference between the sections, I would simply request to be as close as possible to El Centro.

Casitas. Within walking distance of the main lobby and it's also the first bus pickup stop in the mornings. When we stayed in the Cabanas it was a much much longer wait for the bus as they would fill up before reaching our stop and just bypass us.

I liked the location of the Cabanas section as it was close to the main pool and the main dining area. I think if I stayed again I might request the Ranchos section as it was neat theming and still fairly close to the pool, but more walking to the main building though.

Why does everyone feel like they can't stay at Coronado and be farther away from El Centro? You're already at Disney and doing lots of walking, what's a bit more? :p I personally have not stayed anywhere but Ranchos (first stay I requested Cabanas and got Rancho 7b; second stay I asked for Ranchos and got 6a in the back- you can't get much further from El Centro than that but it never posed a problem)
It is a beautiful resort and no matter where you stay you will enjoy it. Best of luck!

For us, we like to make quick runs for snacks and drinks etc, being far away reduces that spontaneity.

I don't mind walking, but my daughter does at night returning home from the parks.
Also, we are always rushing to get to the parks for rope drop so I want to be a few minutes from the bus stops.
Lastly, its a pain to be going back and forth for coffee in the refillable mugs in the morning and to refill drinks

I don't mind the walk- and no matter where you are, you're not far from a bus! However, for us it comes down to the theming of each area. Ranchos was my least favorite of the three, personally. The architecture, colors, and overall feel of Cabanas and Casitas appeal to me the most.

Rancho 6a back side- we went out our door, walked across the parking lot a little, and were at the bus stop. A grand total of 2 minutes.
Rancho 7b front/dig site side- walked around the back of the building and out to the bus stop between 7b and Cabanas 8a- also only a few minutes walk. This is also the stop that goes directly out to the parks w/o stopping at El centro in the AM. so if you are rope drop people (we are) then it works well.

You can use the theme park buses to get around Coronado. The last stop for most of them is El Centro (confirm w/the bus drivers). Rancho 7b is about as far as you can get from El Centro, but there's a bus stop right next to it, so even there it isn't such a huge walk if you're coming back from the parks at night. You can also get a lift from cast members driving the golf carts around.

There are several bus stops along the ring road that goes around the resort. Personally, I've enjoyed my early AM coffee runs to to El Centro in the early morning light.

It's a wonderful resort. My wife says it feels like a vacation within a vacation. The main pool is tremendous and the quiet pools make a nice place to have breakfast. Your kids can have a pre-parks dip while you enjoy your coffee.

CSR is a such a beautiful resort, and not as huge as everyone makes it out to be. We stayed in Ranchos, and the walk to El Centro really isn't that far...and the theming on that walk is beautiful! If we had stayed at Cabanas or Casitas, we probably wouldn't have bothered to see the rest of the resort, so personally I was happy where our room was. You really aren't far from a bus stop anywhere in this resort.

Check out this info on room locations
http://buzz2k1.wix.com/coronado#!suggestions/cyzu

There is a bus that goes to all the bus stops, then blizzard beach and back to all the bus stops for guests to use to get around the resort

I looked on your website again today, which is beautiful by the way, but I didn't see anything about the WiFi. Last time I was at CSR was April 2012 before all the changes to the WiFi connectivity. CSR had terrible WiFi and I dropped a lot of calls on my cell too. Anybody give you any feedback about the WiFi and cell coverage lately at CSR?

I'll be at CSR 5/31-6/3. I booked a standard room through Orbitz. I'm not sure whether Casitas has standard rooms but it didn't show up for my online check-in. For standard, which two of the following should I choose: Ranchos, Cabanas, 1st Floor, 2nd Floor, Ground Transportation.

Does anyone recommend water view or preferred rooms?

I dunno if water view from the rooms is going to be that much of a added value, not like you have a balcony or patio to sit on. Preferred means closest to the lobby or food area I was told so that means Casitas. I prefer Cabana area, I have stayed in 9b Cabana area. Perferct location for me.

Looking at the map, I chose Cabanas and Near Transportation. So maybe that would put me in 8a or 8b.

The 8's and the 9's are good. You can't go wrong in the Cabana area. It is close to the dig pool, near a bus stop, not a bad hike to the restaurants, right in front of the sandy beach where the hammocks are. There is a laundry close and a quiet pool. You have to hike over to the Casita area where the gym is and their small spa but it's a nice hike.
I just booked myself there. I think I am going solo for a May trip...we spent Easter at CSR a couple of years ago and I really liked the resort.
