As far as the quality of the rooms and such I would guess some offsite places are better than the Disney resorts, but they can't touch the location of the Disney resorts. That alone make it worth it to us. We can "feel" the Disney bubble and enjoy being in it, other can't so that matters as...

I am a pasta guy (could live on it!) but we are going to Napoli as we are a party of 6 and it seems to be a better value of the money for us.

A well designed and marketed extra FP+ and free dining plan could do very well. Young families not having to worry about standing in line as much and free grub (yeah yeah I know it's not really free!) could make a heck of a ad campaign.

I guess since we never open to close a park we use the FP+ system differently than some. We book rides and a ADR so that our mornings (before 10am or so) are not set nor are our evenings (after 7 pm or so on average) that way we can sleep in and have the night free to go to DTD, swim, movies...

To you they are not. But if you want to pay for our next trip the WDW then you can determine if they are or not for us as well. Deal? :)

I know what your saying about the first people in the park ( I am never one BTW) but that idealogy is not as true as it once was. I remember in the "old days" for sporting events or concerts that you wanted a ticket for you had to go somewhere and stand inline to get tickets when they went on...

I don't want to go to Disneyland, I want to go to WDW. It's a much better resort for us. No need to wake up, we know what we want.

I can see them making extra FPs per day part of a resort package. Makes sense to up the benefits of staying onsite. Uni already does this of course, free EP if you stay at most rooms onsite or pay for it out of pocket. It's a viable option IMO.

Maybe not to you but they are to us. I can not walk around in my real life for a week and ride, eat, sleep, drink, shop and relax like I can at WDW with a magic rubber band taking care of everything "unfun" about those things. That is immersive to us. If fact beyond not being able to do so it...

It might not to you but to us we like FP+ and what it adds to our trips. It makes sense and adds to the way we enjoy the parks. It's not perfect but it's much better than the ole run and gun FP system for us.

That is more a more subjective issue for them I would think. I would guess since they see the FP+ usage data, the direct customer feedback via visits to guest relations at the parks as well as letters and phone calls they have a less subjective view on FP+ and it's popularity or lack of. Who...

I was referring to WDW (the resort as a whole) in Orlando, it's the one we go to so it's my point of reference. I believe the articles I linked were just talking about WDW itself but I could be wrong.
