Why do people defend Disney's snack prices...

I think whatever "losses" Disney is seeing on new parks is pennies compared to the hemorrhaging subscriber base at ESPN, especially considering the long-term commitments they are locked into for rights fees.

Why is 7 dwarfs mine train line so long

I don't agree 100%, the longer the ride, the more vehicles can be dispatched. A large roller coaster at peak capacity usually can run no more than 3 vehicles at a time (loading, lift hill, riding). At say 40 riders/car, that's appox. 600 riders/hour. Because SM is a longer ride, more rafts...

Why is 7 dwarfs mine train line so long

IMO it's good for 1-2 Fastpasses over a week's trip, but I wouldn't wait in the standby line for it. Thankfully it seems to be pulling crowds from Space and Splash Mountains. During President's week, by 9:30, Seven Dwarves had 90 minute waits posted on the standby line.

Why Do People Struggle So Much With Snack Prices?

You are missing the core point of my argument. If the company does nothing else, but uses free cash flow (or worse issues debt) to prop up EPS growth, how does that make the company any more valuable? Sure today my shares may be worth $55 instead of $35, but would the cash flow be better...

Why Do People Struggle So Much With Snack Prices?

Like I said, the impact of the share repurchase is the message that management feels the company is undervalued. Any savvy investor, including institutional investors will normalize EPS for the share repurchase. A cynic would ask if capital is best used for debt repurchase, or capital...

Why Do People Struggle So Much With Snack Prices?

Just a finance aside-share repurchases, stock splits and stock dividends have zero impact on EPS, a public company is required to disclose "apples to apples" EPS in their quarterly and annual SEC filings. What a stock buyback (hopefully) shows is that management feels the Company is...

Why do people defend Disney's snack prices...

How is what Disney charges for food any different to what Universal, Six Flags, Cedar Point.........and so on charge?

Why Do People Struggle So Much With Snack Prices?

What I'm not getting, is that there are no surprises here. Before one steps foot in Disney, they should know exactly how much every drink, burger, fry, cupcake..........costs. Everyone has options if they are looking to shave money off their budget. Disney is simply charging what the market...

Why Do People Struggle So Much With Snack Prices?

Compared to the Yankees, Mets games are fairly economical, but that's like saying a Lexus is more economical than a Mercedes. The Mets will kill you for high-demand games, but otherwise: Upper level tix-$9-2$5 Field Level Tix-$35-75 Parking-$23 LIRR, 2 adults, 2 kids-$41

Why Do People Struggle So Much With Snack Prices?

It's not a knock on anyone's taste, it's how tap water is essentially repackaged in unnecessary plastic and marked up an insane amount. On a level, I can justify buying Poland Springs. Honestly it would be environmentally responsible of Disney to stop selling bottled tap water, and instead...

Why Do People Struggle So Much With Snack Prices?

This is not a Disney gripe but a Coke gripe, as Dasani is nothing more than purified tap water. It gives me the heebie jeebies when I see people buy cases of (clearly labeled) purified water instead of spring water......

Why Do People Struggle So Much With Snack Prices?

It's not just Disney, at a Mets game this weekend, i noted the comparison of Shake Shack prices vs. my local Shake Shack Burgers: $10.50 vs. $8.09 (30% markup) Fries: $5.75 vs. $2.99 (92% markup) Shakes: $6.75 vs. $5.29 (28% markup) And you know what? There was still a 45 minute line.

Swimming in the World Showcase Promenade

It's almost like New Orleans, where you'd go into a restaurant and it's bright and sunny, then leave and it's bright and sunny with a foot of water on the ground.

Why Do People Struggle So Much With Snack Prices?

People complaining about the price of water annoys me because any quick service spot will happily give you iced water upon request.

    July Trip.....Bad?

My grandparents used to bring me to Disney over July 4th, and back then I promised I'd never subject myself or my family to the combination of crowds and climate. If I have to visit in the summer, I go at the end of August, when the southern kids are back in school.

    Chef Mickey's or 'Ohana breakfast?

Disney transportation is dicey at best trying to get to a breakfast reservation. I had a 7:30 reservation for Chef Mickey's, and from the CBR, I took an Uber, and it was a whopping $9

Does Disney need another big thrill ride?

Six Flags ran their business into the ground accumulating the debt required to build newer and more cutting edge coasters every year at all their parks, sacrificing customer service in the process. Disney has clearly seen what Universal has accomplished, but attraction development can not be...

    Chef Mickey's or 'Ohana breakfast?

I didn't have the greatest experience at Chef Mickey's in February. Breakfast was the standard buffet fare, with the exception of lox and krispy kremes :). Characters were being rushed through by their handlers, maybe spending 30-45 seconds with my family. In contrast, at the Crystal Palace...

Does Disney need another big thrill ride?

I personally prefer at WDW more attractions along the line of Splash Mountain-plenty of thrills and fun but with a strong story and connection with Disney magic. Pure roller coasters are easily accessible across the country, expensive to build and maintain, and simply can not handle the...
