My first "monorail" ride was at Hershey Park. Not sure they still even have that. I haven't been there since I was 7 or 8. I do love the tour like ride they have. I recall a trolly tour of other areas of the property as well. Might be worth a trip again some day! :)

Would you give them a break if it was your room? I think Disney handled this poorly. I definitely would have made more noise on your end. Make some more noise now, send some letters...at the least you might be able to get yourself a refund for the night!
