    Record profit for Disney

I thought the mutual admiration part came whenever you profess your love for TDO in almost every post!

    Record profit for Disney

It is good to see that the financial results were good. Though I suspect much of the profit came from higher prices for food, rooms and admission. They have slowed discounting down a bit so that certainly helps the numbers compared to last quarter. I also question how much of the improvement is...

'Joyful! A Gospel Celebration of the Season' returns to Epcot for the holidays

At least there is no gap under the tree. :sohappy:

Official Disney Parks Blog to host live chat with Fantasyland Imagineer Chris Beatty

Well. This was disappointing. The questions that should have been answered are like the ones RSoxNo1 asked. They don't give away any info that should be locked down.

It could be that he sees how Disneyland holds themselves to the higher standard WDW used to and takes pride in what they give their guests.

Nope, I can think for myself! I actually thought the Christmas show as cut in 2004. My bad and thanks for the correction. Speaking of holiday cuts, one of today's homepage items is the Improved Epcot Christmas tree! Now with no gaps! What an improv... Wait. Wasn't the gap there...

PHOTOS - New improved Epcot Christmas Tree now on display

This is actually not an improvement. The gap was there because of a stage. A stage that held Epcot's Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Which also kicked off the Lights of Winter for the evening. So we lost a stage show, and the lights. But hey, no gap! :sohappy:

Excuses excuses. With proper care, CBJ could have been just as popular as ever then. And CBJ Christmas was axed long before the Dream lights. And cutting something to have something else is never an excuse for anything.

The 80s issues weren't because Disney insisted on quality, like what I was saying. They just took on 2 huge resort projects at once and put out crappy films.

I don't think Walt ever put the company in jeopardy, I think he had ideas that would have. And the 80s was a result of building Tokyo and Epcot at once and putting out bad films. They took on too much and let film quality drop.

Look at Disney from its founding through the 90s and you'll see that a good business can be run without sacrificing any amount of quality. They like to market Christmas as being the best time to be in WDW. So if they can stretch it out...that's what they do. Greedy. Interesting point on...

Because that's how it used to be done. It was better. That's how Disneyland does it -to this day-and they offer more.

The fact that people think Christmas shouldn't be celebrated until after Thanksgiving is irrelevant. The fact is that ALL holiday events should be available to ALL guests for the ENTIRE time they are offered to anyone.

It may be leaps and bounds over the competition, but I wouldn't call WDW's entertainment "Disney entertainment quality". MK's parade gets cuts every year and is 10 years old, Wishes pales in comparison to any Disney fireworks, MSEP is old and tired. Illuminations is a solid show, but is...

    Holiday season 2011

Yeah. I think it is wrong accepted by the American Park visitors. Look at what Tokyo does for holidays. Their entertainment is killer anyway, and they have parades and shows for almost every holiday for every guest. Even Easter!
