Voyage of the Little Mermaid is done, won't reopen with the parks.

Truly done for? Maybe not. But OP was correct. Efforts were made to get Indy, BatB, Frozen, and Disney Junior ready for reopening and all of the technicians and operations cast and custodial were ready to go but things fell through because of Equity. No efforts were made at all to get Mermaid ready.

News Disney's Hollywood Studios July 2020 reopening reports

Theater shows like MuppetVision are running so obviously they’re not concerned about the notion of the virus being airborne.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

I don’t see how Disney doesn’t shut down in about 2 weeks. Either Orange County is out of hospital beds and demands a shutdown, or Disney realizes there isn’t money to be made and determines it’s cheaper to close back down. I don’t see any other scenario prompting a closure, but I think both...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Of course what’s going on outside of property matters. When you come to Disney and trip and break a bone and no hospital in Florida can accommodate you, let me know how you’re feeling.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

That is 100% incorrect. There are countless studies on people eating inside and infecting parties on the complete opposite side of the room. Masks off indoors is wildly unsafe. Period. Distance is almost irrelevant.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

And, again, the main concern is eating. Taking off your mask to eat inside will immediately put you at risk. Countless studies have shown that being inside and eating with your mask off and having someone else in that same room even 20 feet away who is infected and has their mask off could also...

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

FYI that the face shield (in addition to the mask) depends on your role. There are also goggles for some scenarios as a third form of protection. It’s not about which cast WANT them, but which JOBS need them (think things like a height check or seat belt check where 6 feet is hard to keep while...

WDW Still Struggling with Safety and Unions

That much I can confirm. Any stunt performer, dancer (as in, not a parader performer), singer, or mic’d stage character are pretty much the Equity roles. At Hollywood, that would be any performer in Indy, Ariel in VotLM, any performer in Frozen, the face performers in Disney Junior, Belle and...

WDW Still Struggling with Safety and Unions

One person specifically mentioned the Indy show and a post on . Said his friend was called back to do a modified show as Indy with just the first scene. Would 100% have to be an equity stunt guy to pull that off. Question is whether they could still do this kind of modified socially-distant show...

WDW Still Struggling with Safety and Unions

Other posters have indicated that that first part is not entirely true. There have been mentions of modified shows. I’m not sure if those are out the window now.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Because that’s how math works. All of these precautions are just that; precautions. Wearing masks decreases the spread. It doesn’t stop it entirely. If only 4 or 5 asymptomatic people make it into the park, the odds of you getting it as well are pretty low and acceptable to the degree that it’s...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Breakrooms, mostly. Maybe the average guest is safe from the average employee and vice versa. But not nearly enough care was given to backstage areas and break spaces. Quite a few attractions have out breaks from shared break spaces. It’s the main reason CMs want Disney to reconsider. Everything...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

We still have so many unanswered questions about Covid-19. Some of the asymptomatic and younger cases still have complications that arise months after the fact or cause lasting internal damage. Cases should not be rising this rapidly, period. People thinking “oh, as long as those catching it...

News Disney names D’Amaro as Chairman Disney Parks Experiences and Products

Josh came in and almost immediately he approved and began work to re-do some of the worst breakrooms on property. He didn’t have much time in the WDW role but it was obvious that he was present and listened to the cast and was willing to implement changes and that’s why cast positively latched...

What's Still On and What's Now Off

Yes. Easily. Testing was pretty much botched across the board and lack of response after everything in China was horrid. Back on topic, there are some things here that wouldn’t surprise me and others that would. All I know is that this is still the poster that vehemently argued (incorrectly)...
