Does going to WDW too often, take away some of the magic for kids?

I took my kids way too much when they were little. By the time they were 10, they hated going because they were just over it.

Disney GiftCards work at fast pass machines

I believe it. We've tried an assortment of things that shouldn't have worked, and some of them actually gave us Fastpasses.

    Whats your favorite Disney park?

I like Epcot. Wide open spaces (I hate being squished in crowds), no stupid parades, cool music, lots of air conditioned rides with no lines, lots of food options, awesome smells everywhere....I wish I was there right now.

    Good question! *returns to cave*

    Barefoot at Disney

The thought of my feet touching the bare ground at a dirty theme park gives me the shivers. I won't even go bare foot at a water park. Ick!

I know what the next expansion should be....

To qualify, the adult male must spend a minimum of 160 hours per week with the children, for the prior 364 weeks. Notice I was generous in allowing 8 hours per week of free time for the adult male.

When was your first trip to Disney?

May 1982. I was 6 months old, so I can't claim to remember a thing about it.

    WDW or DLR?

I'm not voting because they can't be compared. Disney World has the space to offer a lot more than Disneyland does. The things I enjoy about Disney World (the resorts, the restaurants, the places outside the parks to "wander," the water sports, etc.) only exist because there's room for them to...

The Official "Explore Southern California!" Thread

We waited about 3 hours the week after Christmas. When we went again in the spring it was more like 15 minutes. The bummer at Christmas was it was blizzarding so hard, we didn't have any view whatsoever. It was a complete white-out and freezing cold. My kids loved it though. Though I grew up...

The Official "Explore Southern California!" Thread

These are the "things to do" I recommend to visitors who are going to be somewhere between LA and San Diego. (These are all pictures I took back when I was all super motivated about California and brought my camera with me everywhere. Now the thing is collecting dust.) Oceanside pier. Super...

The Official "Explore Southern California!" Thread

I found the Getty Villa a little boring. I don't think I'm cultural or artistic enough to appreciate it. Agreed. Out of everything I've done in CA, the drive from Monterey to San Simeon has been the best. I've driven through there before, but can't imagine taking a day out of a Disney...

    Fastpass+: Daughter Not "Eligible?"

There are actually very few rides in the Disney parks that any average-sized child over the age of 3 cannot ride because of height.

Will we ever see another 3D movie attraction?

Humans are easily amused. Dump a bunch of bubbles out of the ceiling and they'll come back over and over.

California girl's first trip to Disney World and Florida...

I grew up in the East, but I've lived in San Diego County for over 4 years now. My favorite part of going to Florida is the thunderstorms! I truly miss having "weather". The other thing that feels good in Florida is the warmth. Not sure what part of California you're in, but I'm right near...

American Idol......gives me goose bumps sometimes

I enjoyed the attraction when I first checked it out. Then I went to the actual American Idol (a live taping). I'm sorry to say, the attraction doesn't even come close to the feeling of being at the show. I don't know if I would enjoy the attraction anymore now that I've experienced the real...

    1st Disneyland Trip Plan...

The Marriott over by the convention center? I would never want to walk that far. Yuck. Just take the ART shuttle. It picks you up by the front of your hotel every few minutes and only costs a couple bucks. The Marriott is across the street from the Toy Story parking lot, but even walking...

Disneyland Snacks Not to Be Missed

Thought of another one...though I can't remember what it's called. It's like a chocolate covered s'more. They have it over by Pooh and also in that bakery type place in the back of the Emporium.

Disneyland Snacks Not to Be Missed

And snacks that I think are gross: The giant square shaped cinnamon rolls. Look so much better than they taste. The Mickey shaped cookies with Mickey's face on them. My daughter got one once, took one bite, and tossed it. Nasty! And those mint juleps are ew to me. They are like liquid...
