Boy I hope the AIE lives on...have heard rumblings bout its closure. We look forward all the time to catching at least one show, sometimes 2-3 and set up our dining sched so we can catch finale. Ive never seen a clunker. The performers are always so good. From young teens to middle age moms. I sit and watch them and get goose bumps at how good they are and the courage it takes to be up there.
here is a High Five for all those who perform!!!

I agree it really is a fun show. You really get the feeling of what it is like to be at the show. Always have gone to the last showing but they really are very talented.

I enjoy it also... the last time we went though, there were only two performers... they are just not getting the people to sign up for it like they used to... I give it another few years at the most :(

The first few years when it was brand new, it was ok. It was a fun show but I felt the space could have been utilized better. But last year it seemed like nobody was interested in doing it anymore. I went to a show and 2 of the contestants were a part of a Brazilian tour group, and they just couldn't speak English. It was horrible

Yea the public is loosing interest in the tv show in general. I can't imagine this lasting too much longer. Especially if HS is getting a major update that we all suspect.

Generic, dull, and the performances are generally just "amped up" kareoke, IMHO.
Much like the show. (Which also stinks worse than when Stitch ate a chili dog and burped into a crowd, making the patrons either faint or run screaming.)
Don't even know why it was built at WDW in the first place.

Probably because they saw the Tv show had good ratings at the time, so they thought it would translate into a good attraction. Little did they know, that the shows popularity was fading quickly and people's interest in it was low. And also if people wanted to see karaoke I doubt they'd go to Disney to see it

For what it's worth, I think that it is a unique experience. It is like being at a live taping of the real show. If you aren't someone who travels to HS frequently, I think the attraction has merit. It's live, engaging and really is a nice way to stay cool and relax in the parks(something that can be hard to do). The lines aren't terrible and it is fun. For the people who are negating the experience, this just might not be your idea of a fun experience.
If they could alter the show and make it a combo: American Idol or the Xfactor meets So you think you could dance.. it could work and be entertaining.

Honestly can't tell if the OP is being sarcastic or not. I hope they are. Be inside once...will never go back. Watched the TV show once...will never watch it again, or any other type of reality-vote-off-people-with-no-talent type of show.

Maybe when the Fox series goes out with the whimper they are pushing it toward they can finally use the space to bring alive a Disney owned reality competition series. Like Wipeout.

I have to admit it is a nice show (the production value at least). However, I have seen CMs literally begging for participants (even more so during the slow season). Lets be real - this attraction is a waste of space and needs to close immediately

It has outlived it's worth. Time to get ride of it. When we were there in October a show was going on and there were literally only maybe 8-10 people watching. The rest of the thousands were walking right by as if it didn't exist.

I enjoyed the attraction when I first checked it out. Then I went to the actual American Idol (a live taping). I'm sorry to say, the attraction doesn't even come close to the feeling of being at the show. I don't know if I would enjoy the attraction anymore now that I've experienced the real deal.

I've been there when all the performers were quite talented and it was really a good show AND times when the talent was sorely lacking and I didnt think anyone deserved the win. I miss Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
