How is it too late if they've done nothing? Creative was done on plenty of EPCOT projects, significant development even happened on a few, and they all got canned. I don't think this project gets canceled either but I'm shocked at how confident people are that nothing can stop it.

Nah that's not what's happening at all. These fixes are being done just by regular maintenance people.

I wouldn't expect any of this, seems like an easy way to be let down. They've made no reference or even allusion to any of this being included. Fun to be Free seems highly likely though, I don't know how you would advertise something as World of Motion inspired and not include it.

EPCOT is going on 25 years of one empty facility and 17 on another, plus Stitch. If it were that much of a concern for them I think we would have seen movement on all of those by now since they're within active parks. Discovery Island is out of sight & out of mind.

Disney has so much land to develop that doesn't have the drawbacks of an island. I would be surprised if we see a Discovery Island development within our lifetimes.

No way Cosmic Rewind stays for good. I don't think Guardians as an IP has the staying power that they think it does. Arguably it's a less popular franchise now than it was when the ride was first announced. The coaster itself I think we're stuck with, but it has very rethemeable bones.

It was done on purpose. It wasn't simply turned back on, it was repaired.

It's not the lightning bolt on the upramp, the one that was turned back on is in the descent. It was an effect installed for the '94 show. In between the virtual classroom and lullaby vignettes (or between the modern day nothing and nothing) Clip I shot last week for reference:

Yes, sadly the chariot was removed earlier this year. Unless they install a whole new projector, which is doubtful even in the context of a full ride refurb, that effect isn't coming back.

A full SSE refurb is in development and will be the next thing EPCOT gets after Test Track. In the meantime it's getting love from the local maintenance team, like Seas and The Land have also been getting.

Disney did work with NASA for Mission: Space in the first place. They’re not gonna sponsor an EPCOT pavilion, especially considering that would be direct competition to Kennedy Space Center.
