Sally Figure added to Haunted Mansion Holiday

Is it any darker this year? The graveyard scene was so bright last year that it really ruined the effect. Scrims were clearly visible everywhere.

    New Tomorrowland Rock Paint Job

I agree with the general sentiment that Tomorrowland needs a LOT of work. The new rocks are certainly a step up from their previous iteration, but (at this point) their newness draws the eye to the terrible mishmash of today's Tomorrowland. It feels like spring cleaning; you never notice that...

    New Tomorrowland Rock Paint Job

Saw this image on Facebook today. It looks like the transformation is coming along. Jury is still out for me.

A look back at DCA when it turned 5 in 2006

I should dig up my old pictures from when my family visited DCA in the first few weeks it was open. We had fun, but were all pretty underwhelmed. We were able to ride the orange zinger when it still had bee bums on the seats. There's likely a picture of that somewhere. To be quite honest, I'm...

New Disneyland Parking Garage and Transportation Hub

Ah! This is where the misunderstanding was. I've seen it claimed a few places that there would still be a pedestrian entrance off of Harbor (with a security checkpoint, or course). If they are indeed trying to funnel everyone into their new security checkpoint and bridge then it makes a lot more...

New Disneyland Parking Garage and Transportation Hub

See, this is what has me thinking that the whole second pedestrian entrance via the Manchester crosswalk might just be a big puppet show. Disney claims they are still going to have an entrance off of Harbor for the immediate Harbor hotels, then when they "realize" that it would be logistically...

New Disneyland Parking Garage and Transportation Hub

You really think that people below the closed intersection in red are going to choose the blue path over the green? (Yellow is the presumed shared path.) I doubt it. Maybe the last hotel or two before Disney Way. The other's won't. Regardless of how pedestrians would choose to navigate the...

New Disneyland Parking Garage and Transportation Hub

Here's where the disconnect is for me. Eliminating some of the crosswalks doesn't actually make the number of pedestrians less, or the crosswalks any safer. Think of the pedestrians as water. If you have a cup of water with three holes in it and you plug up one hole it doesn't reduce the amount...

New Disneyland Parking Garage and Transportation Hub

Agreed. I feel like I need someone to break this all down for me with pictures and simple explanations on the hows and whys. I'm just not quite able to wrap my head around everything. Maybe I'm just not familiar enough with the actual workings of the area. Regardless, thanks for the info, Darkbeer!

Rumor Stitch's Great Escape Replacement— Don’t Hold Your Breath

There was certainly a sprinkle of water sprayed on you. Some interpreted it as drool, some as blood. My sick childhood imagination thought it was blood. Perhaps you were unlucky enough to have never had a working water sprayer? Scariest ride of my entire childhood.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I loved the GotG movie. It was fantastic. Just a breath of fresh air in a landscape of predictable and overwrought SciFi movies. And, I would love a GotG ride. The source material has a lot to offer when it comes to ride possibilities. I also agree that Epcot is in dire need of updating and...

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

The giant mound of earth for compaction is pretty common in parts of our city. There are two suburbs that are built on some pretty questionable ground (in the flood plane). Before building any towers they have to compact the ground for nearly a year. It is pretty serious, scientists believe that...

Norway Pavilion Frozen construction - Frozen Ever After ride (Part 2)

My issue is how much detail has been taken out of the building they painted yellow. The matched windows used to be a unique arched design that broke up the roof line. The lower windows had charming rock work around them. As of right now everything is looking quite flat and incongruous with the...

Norway Pavilion Frozen construction - Frozen Ever After ride (Part 2)

I have no idea what they think they are doing here. It doesn't make any sense architecturally.

    Carousel of Progress exterior refurbishment

I'm having flashbacks to when everyone thought Future World's new "paint scheme" was just Disney testing a few different color variations. We all know how that ended.

    Muppet*Vision 3D closed for refurbishment 15th August 2016 - 22nd August 2016

Claiming that nobody between the ages of 25 and 35 has any interest in the Muppets is pretty ridiculous. I fall firmly in that group and love the Muppets. So do many of my contemporaries. I mean, my dog is named Kermit. I get that not everyone was exposed to the Muppets growing up, but I...

    A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

We last went to WDW in October of 2013. While we were there I did notice how much prices had gone up since our 2009 trip, but I still felt like there was some value to the equation. While everything did cost more, you were at least getting about the same experience as you did in 2009. Granted...

    The Spirited 11th Hour ...

No, the whole ride is not slow moving. But the best part, in my opinion, is the slow moving dark ride segment. It is the heart of a ride which offers an incredibly immersive environment on top of the thrills. Otherwise it would just be Test Track with pretty mountains instead of parking lots.

    The Spirited 11th Hour ...

Test Track and Soarin' build huge lines because they are newer and they have very limited capacity when compared to Spaceship Earth. SSE may not be as popular as the other two, but it can eat crowds like a beast. So, even if it had more riders than TT over the course of the day, it would never...
