F4 is currently at $442M, possibly to get to $450M this weekend with just domestic with who knows how much added from international. So could be looking at $455M-$460M WW to start next week.
So F4 after this weekend just based on domestic is now sitting at $451M WW, according to Numbers -

And based on some other sites like BoxofficeMojo (which I find to be a little more accurate and up-to-date with international sites than Numbers) has it at $468M WW.

So this looks to be spot on, with a potential to go a bit higher -

To me it looks like F4 could end its run in a couple weeks somewhere between $485M-$510M.

So while certainly not a "smash hit", one can take positives away from this result. And I'm sure Disney has as it looks toward Doomsday in 2026.

Some updated worldwide estimates:

Weapons $148.7 million ($38 million budget)

Freakier Friday $86.2 million ($45 million budget)

Fantastic Four $468.7 million

Superman $594.5 million

Jurassic World: $828.5 million

F1 $590 million

Mission Impossible $596.5 million

Looks like 2-3 titles will soon pass $600 million
Freakier Friday actually cost $42M to make.

It seems for now Disney/MCU have put all their eggs in the ensemble basket; the only publicly announced films on the horizon are the two Doomsday Avengers films and the Sony Spider-Man one.
I expect Spider-Man to do well. People really seem to love Holland's character.

It will be interesting to see what happens with future Spider-Man movies after the next (last) Tom Holland film, he’s been insanely popular in that role. It will also be interesting to see if Sony continues to partner with Marvel Studios or if they go back to solo projects since the MCU is struggling and currently doesn’t have the same drawing power it once did.

I expect No Way Home to be a huge box office hit but with so many “blockbusters” falling short this year I have no idea what to expect, I give it even chances at $2 billion or $500 million, my guess is $1b+ but nothing would surprise me anymore.

I’ve already heavily lowered my Avengers predictions south of $700 million but maybe they’ll surprise me, buck the trend, and return the MCU to the glory days. I was looking at the character cast the other day and it’s half huge names and half people I’ve barely heard of, it will be interesting to see how they manage a cast of dozens of main characters.

I guess now’s as good a time as any to officially admit I was wrong about fantastic 4 making a billion dollars in theaters.
That’s not your fault. Things are what they are…it was reasonable to think it would be a big hit…because Disney tries to present everything as such. It was never gonna be. Both recent and not so recent history tells us that

I could see this somewhere between $750M - $1 billion. But the production reports have me worried it may be closer to your guess.

Here’s how Fantastic 4 has slipped week on week had it maintained a more standard tentpole 3X multiple.

1) 218 - 654
2) 368.7 - 670
3) 434.2 - 565.2
4) 468.7 - 537.7

It’ll still do 500 I’d surmise, but it’s slowing way down.

I hope neither of you are overlooking Reese's Zero Sugar Peanut Butter Cups as a solution to both sides of this debate.

Heavy on chocolate and peanut butter flavor, without the sugar. Enjoy the sweet side of life without any guilt.

Ooh, I'll have to look into that! I was all over the Atkins craze when it first got big in '03 (I read the paperback book, that's how long ago it was!), and have returned to it several times since then when I need to drop 15 pounds fast. It's a fantastic way to go for many folks, especially those of us whose ancestors were living off nothing but whale fat, salmon, and reindeer steaks in a drizzly fjord for 2,000 years.

Back in the '00's, I remember Atkins had a knock-off Reese's peanut butter cup that only had 2 carbs. It got me through the second and third week, to be sure. I'm thrilled to know the nice folks at Hershey's have gotten in on that market themselves. I'll look for it.

Pineapple is the best pizza topping.

I agree! It's because we're from the Northwest corner of this continent. There's something geo-societal about it, I'm sure.

I've been told repeatedly by East Coasters that this trait means we're insane and stupid, but I just think they're jealous.

TP2000 Top Tip: I always keep at least one Digiorno frozen Hawaiian pizza in my freezer, for an emergency dinner option. I sprinkle a fourth of a cup of slivered almonds on top as an extra gimmick before I put it in the oven. Pair it with a cheap approachable glass of Chardonnay, and it's a perfectly respectable and utterly delicious fast weeknight dinner.

I wonder if Freakier Friday's success will see Disney start to do more lower budget fare. Would be good for the streaming service, too.

I wouldn't hold your breath, I'm still waiting for the remakes of The Apple Dumpling Gang and The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes.

I gave up on a remake for The Ugly Dachshund years ago, once Suzanne Pleshette passed away. Burbank just doesn't make gorgeous young starlets any more, so who on earth could have played her part?
