I have no problem with kids being there....We bring our 13 yr old all the time...its this part that drives me crazy "its crazy to me the kids just running around like its a playground"

Hopkinton is too far away from us or i'd have to try it. We are on the South Shore.
Definitely whatever the setting - a brewery, a Fridays, Cosmic Ray's, whatever - kids should not be running around like it is a playground and should not be negatively impacting other guests

Funnily enough, I can think of one, maybe two breweries near me that have literal playgrounds on them. They’re the giant sprawling type places with live music, food carts and such.

Well if they have an actual play area the kids can and should play there - I meant playing around the tables and negatively impacting other guests

I don't think I have seen an actual playground at a brewery but have seen like play areas with games and toys and books and stuff like that. Playground is pretty cool!

The one i mentioned in Westport MA has an actual corn maze in season, and tons of games.

So uh, do we think Beak and Barrel reservations will still go live today? Saw one report on X where a CM mentioned in the live chat that the last communication they received said it’s been pushed until tomorrow.

That would be stupid if they do that. It would impact ANOTHER group of people that will be trying to get their 60 day ADRs done. They should just flip the switch TODAY and be done with it.

Just wow….

I cannot help but laugh.

And yes, I was looking at booking a reservation as well….but this is just laughable.

I really feel sorry for those who were trying to book their 60 Day window, as well as those here who have been up since 6am or earlier to try for this place.

Very curious as to what happened to cause this delay.

The quest goes on…..

I remember when the restarted selling APs. They indicated quantities might be limited and sales could cease at any time. Of course APs of all types remain available today. It would’ve been busy regardless, but they made it worse.

Imagine all the people they have to contact, the chain of executives that need to sign off, all because their serves can't handle any kind of drop. Merch, Reservations, or whatever. I would fire the SVP of IT if I were Bob.
I say this every single time the servers crash (which is often) ~ this has been happening for DECADES. Disney has one of the worst websites/IT in the business, and it is completely embarrassing for them, yet they do nothing to fix it.

This sounds completely bogus, you can't sell or really change reservations so why would anyone waste their time setting up bots?

The point of a DDoS attack is basically to overwhelm and disrupt a target so it can’t function normally.

Common motives include:

  • Extortion – “Pay us or we’ll keep your site offline.”
  • Sabotage – Competitors or rivals trying to damage business operations.
  • Hacktivism – Political or social protest, aiming to make a statement by taking a site down.
  • Distraction – While the target’s IT team is focused on stopping the DDoS, attackers may sneak in other hacks or data theft in the background.
  • Mischief / showing off – Sometimes it’s just malicious actors proving they can do it.

The attack doesn’t steal data directly — its damage is in denying access and potentially causing financial loss, reputational harm, or chaos for the target.

In the early 2000s I worked for an airline reservation company and was shocked they still used a DOS based reservation system called Worldspan, you’d have to type out a c://……. line for everything, it was a massive pain, had a nearly 100 page code manual, was incredibly easy to make mistakes, and often down for technical issues, when I questioned why they still used such an archaic system the answer was it connected dozens of airlines, dozens of hotel chains, and dozens of rental car companies and changing it was simply too complicated because it had to work with so many different companies software, I always wonder if Disney has a similar IT problem, they may be tied in to so many other systems they can’t simply fix it or change it without causing massive problems down stream.

Amazingly Worldspan is still used by airlines today, just with a user friendly interface running on top of the now 40 year old software.

There are SO many companies with an archaic backend. Sure they've made the front end look nicer, but many will not change the backend. My partner sees it all the times with clients, and similar reasonings of excuses are given.

The ecosystem is too tied into other things, to complex, if it ain't broke... don't fix it, etc.

You might appreciate this, I remember back in the late 2000's having a very large claim against the North Carolina Department of Transportation and finding out during discovery that all of the states email system were still running on Pine
