I think it’s pretty clear I was referring to the boat and island. This is after all the cars thread.Really? Muppet vision Jim Henson’s last project, not iconic?

Exactly what part? What a very Six Flags Way of thinking. I guess that’s where we’re at right now.
Something to be proud of I guess…
It is, that is what I am talking about - whatever way to get to where Villains Land would require infrastructure changes - such as removing the river.bit also could have been done by keeping part of the river but getting pathways in there or coming from the other way and getting rid of Small World or somethingBut gutting RoA and TSI isn’t a significant infrastructure change?
It wasn’t. But you can always backpedal on it. I forgive you.I think it’s pretty clear I was referring to the boat and island. This is after all the cars thread.
Yes, and the guest reaction to the past decade of this type management and changes to the parks is not all the reason why they have empty hotels, restaurants, shops, and parks.Exactly what part?
You do realize that’s why Disney world exists right?
It wasn’t what?It wasn’t. But you can always backpedal on it. I forgive you.
Good thing you posted that I thought I was in the Star Wars galaxy‘s edge thread. It wasn’t what?
The title of the thread is
Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom
I was pretty clearly talking about the boat and island in every post. I never mentioned muppets. The comment I made about replacement plans under Eisner was also clearly referencing the boat and the hop.
It sure seems that way. I’m honestly not sure why you ever thought I was talking about Muppets.Good thing you posted that I thought I was in the Star Wars galaxy‘s edge thread.
I don’t know, we were talking about iconic Disney attractions that have been removed to the outrage of loyal Parks fans. And you indicated there were plans to remove multiple underperforming attractions for decades. It sure seems that way. I’m honestly not sure why you ever thought I was talking about Muppets.
Oh my gosh, I’d forgotten about Project Gemini.![]()
I saidI don’t know, we were talking about iconic Disney attractions that have been removed to the outrage of loyal Parks fans. And you indicated there were plans to remove multiple underperforming attractions for decades.
So…
IF misinterpreted that then that’s on me.
The first plans I saw to remove the island and riverboat were created while Eisner was still CEO. Long before anyone planned to monetize LL.
The Riverboat has indeed been used as a literal icon of Frontierland many times over the years. Even current day at Disneyland.Calling them some of the most iconic attractions in the park is more than a little bit hyperbolic.
I said
This started it off.Between Muppet vision and the liberty Belle these were large capacity attractions that were eliminated because they weren’t capable of generating the additional sweet, sweet lightning Lane revenue.
Yes. And I quoted that post and specifically referred to the riverboat and island because that is what I was referencing. I never mentioned muppets. This started it
This.Stitch has been empty for YEARS. The fact that that is still empty but they’re paving over RoA, an area that people probably didn’t actually complain about despite what people say in here, is actually embarrassing. Tomorrowland deserved a reimagining way before Frontierland needed one.
Splash and BTMRR also close(d) for weather.I'm crunching the numbers based on generally agreed upon capacity from wayy before this argument, will being incredibly generous to say that ever trip of the riverboat is full to capacity, which I know it's not.
Frontierland is going to be a land of 3 outdoor E tickets, 1 inside show, 1 all age family ride. Are we really pretending that the rafts didn't close during weather? 5 attractions in 1 land is not bad at all. Plus "variety"?? Since when is MK at a shortage of boat rides??? What? Sure it's a different system but at that point, so is both the new systems coming to the area anyway
Underutilized. Keep hearing that like it’s a bad thing. The boat and the island did not “move thousands+ per hour” Not even close. And they were massively underutilized.
But it is a bad thing.Underutilized. Keep hearing that like it’s a bad thing.
You don’t need everything to be at full capacity. In fact, you shouldn’t even want that. That just makes for a bad experience.
RoA is the focal point of Frontierland. It’s the glue that keeps that land together. Aesthetically. Thematically. Sightlines. Etc. You can make the argument it does the same for liberty square. Replacing with a mini land that has an attraction and a long queue is just a horrible trade. It didn’t need to be this way.
A problem for who? And does 300 even count the riverboat? Where does 300 come from? But it is a bad thing.
If you’re paying to maintain and operate an attraction that can accommodate 1000 guests per hour but only 300 guests per hour actually experience it, that is a problem. Even with no wait guests largely are not interested.
Utilization is not the same as wait time. I’m not saying every atttaction should have a long wait. Parks need attractions with no/low waits. Long waits develop when demand exceeds capacity. Ideally capacity should meet demand. But demand being a small fraction of capacity is a problem.
A problem for Disney. I realize that’s not our problem as guests. But why would you expect any company to spend money on something guests mostly aren’t using.A problem for who? And does 300 even count the riverboat? Where does 300 come from?
And the solution to deal with this so called problem is to tear out the soul of the land that is RoA? Thats their great fix to deal with whatever problem they have decided suddenly now exists?
