EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Another idea I think would be fun would be to have a Wonderful World of Disney type show where Dreamfinder is basically in Walt’s position and Figment interacts via traditional animation with him and there are a variety of segments in the show. Maybe a series like the one I mentioned as one segment, plus the characters actually delving into the creative processes and techniques used to create the things we love, maybe talking/interacting with folks involved in said processes themselves. Whether it be through imagineering, animation, whatever. Or just the creative fields in general (which thankfully, Disney has most of those divisions in house as-is). But there ya go. Something that’s the most wide reaching in regards to audience and something that I think is a tasteful continuation of the Disney legacy.

Pray to God that doesn’t happen. Like, look, I get people like those Mickey shorts as a spin-off and Rudish has talent in his own right.. but it really shouldn’t be the ‘main’ direction you take your beloved classic characters, ever. The goal always should be the main one should reach the widest audience possible while respecting the integrity of the characters, not the opposite. You can bring them in a more modern time period but you should never change the core of them (Mickey MouseWorks/House of Mouse demonstrated that wonderfully in regards to making new cartoons that feel like tasteful continuations of the legacy while still doing new things with said characters, as did things like Goofy in How To Set Up Your Home Theater, Mickey & Friends in Get a Horse, the Goofy in how to handle yourself in a pandemic shorts, Once Upon a Studio, and the DIY Duck short, .) Classic Disney did that practically flawlessly. They really need to go back in that direction. There’s a reason the classics still hold up to this day. On that note too, the classics should be made properly available/marketed etc. to also keep the knowledge/memory and accessibility of those possible.

While I completely agree, I’d hope it’s done after the ride comes back to its former glory or around the same time it does. The whole point should be to demonstrate that ride originated concepts are Infact successful as-is and can lead to expansion to other mediums and such, after the fact. Also, I’d hope it’s not your typical Disney Jr. preschool show w no depth, nuance, or real sincerity in the personalities, writing or direction (looking at you Mickey Mouse Clubhouse *sigh*), but rather something that’s aimed at ‘all’ ages.. something along the lines of the Disney Afternoon shows & New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Where it’s whimsical, they explore realms of creativity and it’s fun & abstract, there’s some adventure, mystery, etc. and through Dreamfinder and maybe some of the friends and folks they meet on their journeys, Figment learns new things that relate to whatever subject it is they’re exploring in each realm (Art, Literature, Theatre, Science, Technology, Film, etc.) aswell as basic morality and such lessons, kinda like (again) New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers did. Either go back to traditional animation entirely for the show, explore w a Paperman-esque style (a fine mix of Traditional 2D & CG animation) for it.. ‘or’ perhaps do the style used for the Legend of the Three Caballeros show and it’d look/be good.

The funny side of me really hopes they go for a bit of a Looney Tunes slapstick-style approach ala Timon & Pumbaa

Not sure on timeline for this announcement. Is there an upcoming closure that would need to be balanced out? Or maybe it's ready for the HOP re-opening as a distraction.

Not to hijack this thread, but if the next EPCOT ride refurb is Figment, as I've heard, that might excite fans enough to be a D23 announcement.

I think "Hype Moments and Aura" brain have me thinking they're holding it for D23 2026 but if they wanna actively get a move on making EPCOT "fresh" for the 50th, I think it gets announced sooner rather than later.

If they are willing to truly remake/refurb this in the spirit of the original attraction, then I'll be over the moon about this. Putting up some Dreamfinder fatheads on the walls won't do it though. I really hope we can keep the glass pyramid and it would be a nice boost to get the Imageworks (or equivalent) back on the second floor.
