EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

EU had to go as fast as it could since there's no income coming from it until it opens.... all the while going way over budget.

That's why Disney's DVC towers go up lickety split.
Agreed, but do we honestly think 2025 Disney would build an entire new park as fast as Universal?

Everything right now is going to get compared to Epic in some way. Disney chose not to compete and seemed to concede the media attention. Whatever happens at TT will obviously pale in comparison.

Stupid question, maybe it was discussed already.

But if the new plot of the ride moves away from R&D and more of a homage to WOM, will it still be called Test Track after the refurb?

It's still going to be called Test Track (it's Test Track in the new logo and on all concept art released so far). The ride is explicitly stated as leaning towards R&D (in the most recent Imagineering video about the new wrap for the cars). It's never been said that it's an homage to WoM (the strongest statement is that certain aspects draw on "inspiration" from WoM).

Honestly, what was wrong with 1.0???? I would be thrilled if if went back to the original version.
It was extremely dated, industrial looking like a car repair shop

So it looked like … a vehicle testing facility? How odd.
Super weird, right? It’s almost as if they intended the rider to be a crash test dummy or something. Sounds like a bunch of hogwash blasphemy wrapped in moldy bologna if you ask me. What’s next, the word “test” was in the name of the ride or something cra……………oh wait

I really hope this new version is a slam dunk and objectively the best version of the ride, if anything so some people might finally shut up about the original. It was the first (and sadly not last) of the poor fits for Future World. Nothing about it inspired hope or confidence in the future, the entire attraction focused on one segment of the present of an industry. 2.0 was essentially an aesthetic refresh that made it a Future World attraction and fixed many of its issues, yet for whatever reason a lot of the fandom seems to passionately prefer the empty rooms with bright lights over the empty rooms with lasers and blacklights. Those hot and cold rooms must have really been something.

Anywho, it's good that they're constantly refreshing this pavilion. Seems like this one will have some more substance than the last one.

So. Why wouldn’t a ride built in the 90’s feature 90’s vehicles?!?! Do you realize how terrible your “argument” sounds? And this is the norm for you, and you repeatedly prove it.

You have me on Ignore? I’m doing something right, then, because that usually happens when you can’t handle the truth or logic.
Nope just have no desire to fight anyone here. It was out of date by 2009, it was built for the 90s, not 2010. My point was it wasn’t designed to last forever and needed updating by then.
