This FAA case finished its processing, and more details were added. They also filed cases for five additional cranes.
“Construction of mobile cranes to construct a 10-story hotel. The mobile cranes can reach a max height of 240 ft. AGL when raised to its highest point. When idle, during...
A permit for the refurb was filed last week with the FDEP. Construction period seems to extend all the way to the end of 2025. Normally a permit like this wouldn’t be required for a refurbishment, but it seems this project will involve around 4.9 acres of land disturbance. Will be interesting to...
Looks like work on whatever this project has become might be about to begin. There was a recent FAA permit filed for a 240ft mobile crane to be onsite from October 14th 2024 - August 14th 2025. The filing is simply titled “CSI Mobile Cranes” and the GPS coordinates put it right near the former...
You should be good! I think assumption is the majority of the walls will come down Dec 5th to coincide with Walt’s birthday for the reveal of the Dreamer’s Point statue and the premier of Liminous!
To briefly touch on the Mediterranean Resort again - Here's several maps from the 1991 proposal- this one made it pretty far through the permitting process and included a monorail station:
Images are from the documents in this SFWMD Filing...

It's kinda irrelevant now, as Disney has already confirmed the existence of this walkway, but the application documents for this permit were finally uploaded into the system this morning. There's a brief bit of email correspondence that confirms the walkway and bridge, and the documents also...
One last thing I just realized about this permit... The address listed is an address associated with the Grand Floridian, 3291 Floridian Way. So that, in addition to the permit being titled "Grand Floridian to ..." definitely makes me think this is a walkway that will start at the Grand Floridian.
When the permit application gets added to the system in a few days (hopefully by mid next week) we should have a better picture of the scope of this project. That document will contain the exact amount of acreage being disturbed. All we know at this point is that it's more than 5 acres because...
I thought of that too, and it definitely could be just for that path to nowhere. However, the permit is for Large construction, indicating it will affect more than 5 acres of land. Even doing a very generous measurement around the path I was only able to get to about 4.5 acres. And yes, it's...
