The death count in FL and across the country has done nothing but accelerate upwards for the past 2 weeks since this post, new case count declining but consistently at around 9-10k a day. So where do we stand with shutting down all/some of the parks again? Also would imagine Trump banning...

If you thought the last 48 hours were bad just wait for the next 48, TX with a 50% daily case increase today and about 40% daily deaths increase. Obviously TX isn't FL but things seem to be trending downward very very quickly here in the last few days

Do the rising cases among cast members currently in the park that Disney is trying to keep hush hush going to move the needle for this decision or is it strictly looking at the death rate?

Everyone here is focusing on all the wrong markers, the rising case count/hospitalizations don't matter to Disney, all they care about is politically whether or not the governor is going to shut them down, thats the only thing that will cause them to close

Disney's decision has been to not make a decision, they are deferring everything to state/city officials and will do everything they can to keep the parks open until the government tells them to close.

What markers are they looking at to decide go/no go? Beyond the obvious county/state government shutting them down

Florida just closed all bars, I do not see how Disney can argue bars shouldn't be open but theme parks should

Bahahah what a show, going to be hard to sell "happiest place on earth" with these kind of restrictions until Sept/Aug as planned. Parks are going to be unrecognizable for the rest of 2020

This is a big deal and not for the immediately obvious reasons. Trying to rehire and retrain these employees when the parks eventually open up is a nightmare. Re-opening the parks is quite literally going to be like opening them for the first time
