We used to take the first flight out of Chicago which would get us to the parks by lunchtime. We would then be exhausted by 7:00 PM. We now take a 10:30 or so flight and arrive early afternoon. After check-in, we are to the park to make an early dinner. This is what we'll be doing tomorrow...

Congrats on yoursurprise trip. There is nothing more awesome (ok maybe there is but this is a WDW fan website to rock on!) We leave tomorrow on my surprise trip! Again I say, Hooray for brothers!

If my memory serves, the Beach Club can sleep 5 (2 queens and 1 day bed). The Boardwalk only sleeps 4. Does this play a factor in your decision? We've always needed a resort that sleeps 5. Somehow we tend to travel in groups in multiples of 5.

Love my Crocs and am taking them in 2 weeks. I will probably buy a new pair as these are a few years old. If you want to bring your Crocs, do so. If not, then don't. You know your feet best.

I too like the resort specific mugs. Was trying to get a mug from every resort but that's not possible anymore.

The Poly hands down! It was our first "on property" resort and has remained our favorite.

and don't forget the waterparks, one of them is open year round. During the winter season one waterpark is closed for a period of time for maintenance (i.e. painting etc.), when it reopens the other one closes. This ensures that both parks are in ship shape when spring break season starts.
